I just created my first wizard and found a variety of problems :
1. My high Elf Cantrip is not added to my spellbook, and can still be selected again in the spell list (It shouldn't be an option)
2. The wizard spell slots are not displayed in the spell selection step. Same thing for the spell level limitations : At level 6 I should be able to learn 4 level 3 spells maximum, but the builder lets you learn any number of level 3 spells and doesn't give you any information about the limits.
3. When exporting the Character Sheet, only the prepared spells are printed, the learned spells are nowhere to be found. This is a major bug that needs to be corrected. All known spells should be printed, and prepared spells should be checked.
1: It is a racial spell, so it wouldn't be a part of your Wizard 'spellbook'. You'll find it below your other spells on the spell panel. You can choose it again (if it's available from your class) as your modifiers might be different between a racial spell and a class spell.
2: Spell slots =/= spells known. You can know any spell you are capable of casting, and if you wanted to you could fill your spellbook with *only* 1st level spells, whenever you learn a spell you could choose to *only* take 2nd level spells, or heck even 3rd level. Meaning: There is no limit to the number of spells you have from a certain level, only to how many times you can cast those spells between each long rest. Your spell slots are how much magic 'power' you have to cast spells you know. You might know 4 level 3 spells, but you only have let's say 2 slots, so you could only cast 2 of those 3rd level spells.
As a Wizard there is no hard limit to the number of spells you can know, since you can find scrolls or spellbooks in game, and spend the time and money required to copy them into your spellbook. If DDB enforced a hard limit on how many spells you could learn as a wizard, it would lose functionality for many who play them, as their DM ensures opportunities in game for them to find spellbooks or scrolls to copy spells from.
3: There is a complete remodel of the character sheet and export on it's way, but it is currently still in development. This bug is certainly known about, and should (hopefully) be fixed when that remodel is released.
1. I didn't think about this scenario, it makes sense now :D
2. I thought about the possibility to learn through scrolls and other spellbooks. I don't think that a physical limitation should be in the tool, but an indication for characters that are created at high level from the get go. I know the difference between learned and prepared, but the PHB says you can only learn spells that you have a spell slot for. Meaning a 6th level Wizard can only have level 1 spells when he reaches level 2, can have 4x level 2 spells maximum when he reaches level 4, and can have 4x level 3 spells maximum when he reaches level 6. I think that an indication of the max limit of spell levels you can take should be visible at that step so we don't end up with impossible spellbooks in normal circumstances. Example : A 6th level wizard knowing 6x level 1, 5x level 2 and 5x level 3 spells is impossible to get unless 1) He decided to not learn any spell when he reached level 2, 2) He learned an additional level 2 & level 3 spell through other means (scrolls ...etc)
3. Glad to hear that, thanks for the info !
Thanks again.

I think I can help a bit.
