Taking this a step further, the ability to modify existing creatures stats/attack names/etc to make them personal should their be any differences between your animal and the ones in the books. I know within our group we like to homebrew some of the spells to be suited to the characters.

I am really hoping we can get some sort of exportable csv file that will take our character sheet and import it elsewhere. I know that is asking a lot, but I have created custom sheets using Google Sheets, and would love to streamline it using the data available on this site.
I personally prefer a minimalist layout for my character sheets:
The goal would be to keep a character sheet on this site, but be able to affect the overall layout and design in a printable character sheet, which CSV files would let me do with ease.
One of the thing is required in my opinion, is the ability to roll checks from within the character sheets by simply clicking on the stats. Similar to the smart sheets on roll20.
This - and to extend it - anything and everything that needs a roll should have a "roll" option. I would like to be able to click on one of my abilities, select "roll" and have it give a grand total of Attack and Damage based on all my stats that pertain to that ability, perhaps with little subtext below the numbers indicating the type of damage (fire, radiant, etc). That would speed up battles immensely. This is particularly useful when playing with new players who are always asking - "So wait, what do I add to the attack? Ok so is that how much damage I do?" - "Now you roll that twice. Ok now don't forget to add X."
"Your turn Player 3."
"Ok, I'm gonna stab it in the face" > *click ability* > *roll* > "Ok, 12 attack with 8 damage"
"It tries to move it's head out of the way, but you manage to catch it and put a gash down the side of it's face."
I can't remember, has anyone suggested that there be tooltips for class abilities? It would be really nice to do something like [ability]Lay on Hands[/ability] and the like.

I like this idea and this may one of the things that will come out in the future. I know an advanced search and setup are coming near the end of the testing to be sure it integrates properly with all the phases. Well, some reason like that. ::chuckles:: They have stated they are working on making a lot more tooltips over time, as well. This would definitely be one of the good additions to the tooltips as they work on adding and expanding them.

Echoing some other people, I really want to see Unearthed Arcana content integrated in some way eventually.
I've seen hints at this being something that will occur in the future in comments and I can't remember if it was in the dragon magazine article or not. I just know it is something they will be working on. When? I'm not sure. The priority now is to make sure this thing works correctly and layouts fine on multiple devices with at least the SRD/Basic Rules. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have an alpha test platform with way more than what we have here in beta because they have even implied with ALL of us here, we haven't even made suggestions for some of the things they plan to add. =)

An option to integrate character sheets with third party tools.
For example, when you go to a site and you use your facebook login or such, I would like an option to select a third party tool like roll20 or fantasy grounds.
I then would use that tools login to link my character to that tool also or perhaps the reverse, of that.
Anyway, an API for third party developers to integrate with a players characters on this site.
That sounds good. We've already been told they're going to integrate the tooltips for monsters/spells/magic items and such for you to use anywhere. I bet they could do something like that for characters as well.
A public API for characters, so you can use third party tools to use characters created and maintained here, is a fantastic idea. It would be nice if the equipment and wealth could be edited through the API as well, since those are the things that tend to change while playing on a third party platform.
Not having time to wade through 18 pages of thread, I wanted to echo the comments on things like VTT support and printing. I also wonder if there is a way to build a character sheet that is viewable or even editable on an Android device (I am so new that I don't even know which platforms Beyond will support).
I also find myself wondering if the future Homebrew sections would enable (or at least not actively discourage) games using the 5e rules that take place in prior (Krynn, Eberron) or third=party (Middle-Earth) campaign settings. It would be a shame to limit it that strictly.
I'd like too suggest a random name generator. Race specific.
I would also like to see an age height and weight generator. It's just something that would help fill out the sheet which happens to be what a lot of players get stuck on.
Sorry, I just noticed this mega thread.
If you wanted to be really clever, DnD Beyond could show the dale reckoning year the character was born depending on the year of the campaign.
One thing I would REALLY love is a day / date/weather creation tracker/generator. One of the things that I find hardest as a DM is adding those cool small details like a calendar that tracks how many days your campaign has been running and when it intersects with public holidays/festivals, weather events, moon phases that are geographically accurate, travel time based on map tracking from water deep to the sea of fallen stars for instance.
This would be really helpful. Not sure about the "panel" UI and would prefer a button to switch profiles. This would change all the stats on my sheet to the animal stats.
I would actually really like a "map page" option, where I can easily track which cities I've been to, and maybe even make notes about what I did there, or where major npcs reside. A lot of the time my roleplay gets lost because I can't recall if I've even been to such and such town, or where I ran into that awesome dragon, a map with little drop pins would really help track that. Oh! and little feet marks can show up to show the route that we traveled. This could also be a really cool way to share how different parties tackled major adventures.
yes, plus it would be fantastic to have a random generator for details in a town. The DM clicks on a town the players pass through and it would display what shops have in stock, like are there arrows for adventurers, food, perhaps even a magic item for sale
Anyone have an Idea of when the Character Sheets (beta phase 2) is out? Can't wait since the first beta phase have been such a great help for me!!
They've been tight lipped about actual release dates. I think it's not set in stone yet, so they can evaluate and implement the feedback from each phase. But, I also think that they're hoping to get it all out before the end of the summer.
I would love to see the option to create custom spell books that could be printed out in card format. I know there was a run several years ago which are almost impossible to find now but since bards can pick spells from multiple classes, there's a feat the lets you pick other class spells and a DM can grant a player whatever they feel like, it would be fantastic to be able to just do a quick pick an choose.
This may actually be something could be better suited to the mobile app though and just make the a spell book with a quick slide through transition as if turning pages through a book.

Would be great for polymorph and true polymorph as well!

Example: Fireball, Kobold, Reach, Athletics
Imagine using all of those anywhere.

I think you should add this app to the App Store on phones cause not a lot of people use tablets like my group we use are phones
