It's unacceptable for them to continue to skate on the 'oh, we want to make sure it's ready' excuse. They had a time-frame, they missed it, and now they're significantly missing it again. Makes me glad I haven't dropped any more money on a legendary bundle (which I won't anyway until they fix granular sharing - it's a must have for me) or I'd be even more disappointed than I am by only having bought character option books.
That is exactly why they shouldn't state dates. They are screwed any way it happens. They state a date far in the future and people complain it's too long, state a date sooner and people complain if it's not out exactly that date due to unforeseeable problems, or don't give any date and people complain there is no date.
I would rather no date and updates as it gets developed.

I find this attitude so bizarre. If you actually take a look at everything you're currently getting, it's already a bargain worth buying. It's just weird to me that people have these unrealistic thresholds of, "I won't buy until it gives me everything including the kitchen sink!"
Accounting for Human ethnicity (Chondathan, Illuskan, etc.); give the option of choosing an Ethnicity when creating a human which flags for a change in their language selection (see next)
Accounting for Human ethnicity language choices (Chondathan, Illuskan, etc.); give humans their own ethnicity language for free and the choice of ethnic language when choosing an extra language.
A check box in the Inventory section for carried/not carried items so that owned, but not carried, items are not added to encumbrance
What I want is *less* stuff. Specifically, don't show anything that's already baked into my stats. You don't need to tell me that I get +1 hp/level for being a draconic sorcerer; that belongs in the character builder, not the sheet I'm using at the table. Just tell me what my total hit points are.
Also, don't nest collapsing elements. Once I open something up, don't make me keep opening subsections or clicking "show more" to see what I came to see.
Just caught April update. One concern: you mentioned prioritization based on most people use character sheets on laptop it desktop... Well, I have a character sheet open every day on desktop, but I ONLY play from tablet.
We would be happy to answer surveys from time to time it it will help you understand the data.

Same. The mobile interface for making a character is pretty bad, too. So I use my desktop for everything but playing, but I would never use a desktop/laptop at the table when I'm not DMing... I feel like phone/tablet must be more common during actual game time.
At our table, the DM of our current game has his laptop, three of us have convertible chromebooks, and one has a surface pro 3. Do those register as laptop/desktop even in tablet mode?

Just wanted to back up what you're saying here. All of our group build on laptops/desktops (mostly on work computers) apart from a tweak here and there . But when we play, the tablets and phones come out. The only one who reliably uses a laptop during play is the DM.
Unfortunately, messageboard posts are probably not a good sample. But what the heck, I'll throw in. I use DDB on my desktop for character building and prep. And during games on roll20 I use it on the desktop as well. But for any live games I just use the phone.
All this said, I hope this is all irrelevant to the end user. In other words, they make an awesome mobile interface AND an awesome desktop interface.
There are 2 functions I really miss in the character sheets:
1) Selling and Buying. As a DM, I don't want to bother with discounts often, I'd rather give the PCs a bonus healing potion, or something in the exceptional cases. So when PCs are selling their stuff, if they could hit not the remove, but sell button, that'd add automatically half the price of the staff to their currency, it'd be great. Even more when they add item, if they could mark it as 'Buy item', and so remove the same amount of money, it would be even better.
I know it has to consider two optional outcomes in addition: Possibly filtering the items to show only those that can be afforded; showing in a pop-up if the buy would exceed the funds and with how much money.
2) Custom Encumbrance. It'd be a real challenge I assume, but I often work with vehicles, or just simply logging items that are usually left in the tavern room for example. If I could mark items that are not carried, but still considered as part of the goods the character possess, it'd be amazing! Right now this is the only reason why I'm still supporting manual inventory logging on cards.
Selling and buying is actually a pretty cool idea but I would like to go bit beyond and let the DM make a store in the campaign that he can make visible to the party with items discounts etc.
This forum is so long I have no idea if anyone has put in the request for item notes. you may have a +1 dagger but your DM has included item description or back story, maybe it has a name. It would be nice to be able to have a note section on items for more detailed information.

Regarding this, what I can suggest is to name your item, and then use the note section for additional details.
It's worth noting that the post you are linking to is from a forum moderator, not a developer. I suspect if you troll through developer posts (most likely BadEye) you'll find that they are generally much more circumspect in giving even very general time frames. I agree that I also got the impression that they were hoping to get it done in Q1. But BadEye has stated repeatedly that they don't give release dates on these features because software development VERY frequently takes longer than initial projections. Given that, and given how upfront they have been about it, it seems a gross mischaracterization to claim that they are 'blowing through time frames' and 'missing them'. By and large development has been pretty rapid on DDB.
That said, sure, if the current functionality isn't worth the cost to you, then, by all means, don't buy it. In fact, I'd argue that you should pretty much never buy software contingent upon planned or hoped for features. Too risky a game otherwise.
Poor BadEye, though, because he did make the mistake of saying somewhere that he was confident that they'd have the revamp out before the end of Q2 (end of June). I remember shaking my head and going, 'ooh, you are tempting the cruel and capricious Gods of Software Development'.
I do agree that the team does not like to give out an ETA as BadEye has said in pretty much every developer stream that they do not like to give out specific ETAs for releases. However, the moderators, while not on the development team are still a representative for the team. If moderators are throwing out dates by speculation then there is another issue entirely, they should only be sharing information they are allowed to share.
Yeah. I don't know if Stormknight was just using the same tidbits we are to make an educated guess or whether he had inside info. Regardless, I would guess he regrets that post now. Mistakes happen.
I guess I'm just saying that a moderator post in the middle of an obscure thread shouldn't really qualify as the DDB team announcing a timeline.

They haven't missed any of their stated time-frames to my knowledge, so I'm not sure what that's about.
At one point it was mentioned that Q1 was the desired time frame.
This was just one post I was able to find real quick.
