Perhaps stupid question. I am the DM. I have the highest tier subscription and all that. Will my players have to have higher then the free account to join me in my maps?

Nope, you having the master tier is enough to allow you to host maps for your players
I’m running a LMoP: Shattered Obelisk campaign on Maps but I can’t see it when my players move their tokens or use the pointer function. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am liking the maps builder feature a lot, currently running a game using it. I would recommend a feature so we can write or sketch on the map on the map as well. It will help when marking certain features and areas.
Is it possible to use the maps feature for people that live out of state? Can the dm run a session at home a d the players see the maps on their account at their own homes?
yes, if you have a map open they should see a button on the campaign page to join the map. the button is only available if the dm has a map open for that campaign
Is there some way to keep the map playing. For me it seems to log itself out after a few minutes and I have to keep refreshing the screen and re-launching the map to keep it alive.
Thanks. I have done that. To answer my own question, I've found a browser extension which auto refreshes the page so hopefully that will keep it going.
definitely would appreciate a little more customization with the tokens. Maybe more borders/rings for the various conditions. It would be incredible if there was any animation to some. But overall I have loved using it for my sessions and my players are picking up on it really well. They love the auto dice roll with a single click from the character page, then the ability to move themselves, mark the map and have a separate player vs GM maps we can each use especially for those dramatic reveal moments. I think for the map tools it could use some sort of point and text type box though. Something like a comment or popup bubble either for the GM only or both views to make it easier to keep the map straight and add details as you go along. Along with keeping organized, the ability to reorder the maps once they are downloaded in would be so helpful.
So, I was excited to see Storm King was now in maps. I DM for a group, and we have each bought various books. One of our players purchased Storm King so I didn't have to. It's 'shared' in our campaign.
I don't see the campaign in maps; it seems it only shows things that I own directly, and doesn't show shared stuff.
This stinks! As their DM I need the maps. As a player, he doesn't.
Can we update the tool so shared campaigns appear in the maps for everyone in the campaign?
Really liking maps so far! A couple things from a dm standpoint. Would like to have preset tokens for commoners, npc, and things like farm animals and woodland creatures without having to make 50 homebrew monsters just to have token pictures. A spot on the DM's screen to add notes and keep from having to switch tabs all day to remember what's where. Add item tokens for a similar effect, and add pre-made maps for the modules populated with the monsters that belong to them. I love world building but have spent days building the maps from the module and making homebrew npc.
I cannot see an answer anywhere here, so let me try this.
I've just been messing around with a test campaign and a "fake" character. I have the character up on a tablet and the dm screen on laptop.
The player map comes up fine on both screens. But when I switch to DM map, the player screen changes also. No matter what I try, the player always sees what I'm doing.
When I switch to "spectator" mode, it only changes my DM screen, not the players..
I just want to have a map on a TV for my players to move physical figures on while I view DM maps on laptop.
Can someone please attempt to walk me through this process? I get that Alpha is just basically a test, but this seems like a pretty rudimentary thing to have missed...
So is it not possible to look at DM Map, but keep the players seeing the players seeing only the player maps? So I can see the markers, and names of things. I am working on Curse of Strahd, but I can't pull up GM map without revealing everything to players?
Did you ever get this sorted out? I'm having the same issue while using 2 accounts... players can see everything...
Still hoping we get an update soon that allows the dm to view other maps without switching player view/overlay a dm map layer that's only visible to the DM

Hi, you might want to take a look at Davyd's post on 04/18. Seems they don't monitor this thread.
