I'm really enjoying the Monster section and the way all of their abilities, stats, damage etc are laid out. Having said that, they seem to be lacking descriptions of what the monsters actually are. What makes a Lich a Lich? Where does the Tarrasque come from? Is a Black Pudding really pudding? A main part of what fostered my love for the game has always been the descriptions and histories of the beasties and I was wondering if they were eventually gonna be worked in here. Also I know you're working on an Omni-Search so that probably answers my question about a keyword search in the Monster section. right now it seems you have to type in the exact name of a monster to get it to come up, i would love to have aq bit more freedom for example to type [black, dragon, pudding] and pull up both the black dragon and black pudding as a result. Also thank you guys SO much for this already it has become my favorite TINKAN (Thing I Never Knew I Always Needed)!
I would like to second this request for details. The database has been proving extremely useful, but I do wish I could read about what each monster is. My guess is that is in the works, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up :)
The additional flavour text found in the MM is not present in the SRD, so currently we will only have the monster stat blocks. That being said, once we are out of beta, and additional books (such as the MM) can be added via payment/subscription, it would be assumed the additional text would be added.
I'm aware its not in the SRD, will we get it eventually though? And pay I'm not exaggerating when I say I have almost every Dungeons & Dragons book from First Edition to Fifth on PDF already as well as hardback. why would I pay for flavor? I hate assumptions.
Almost certainly - there is a commitment from the development team (and implicitly from Curse & WotC) to making this toolset successful and continuing to add features.
I'm really excited for all of the content and features that are likely to be built over the next few months.

We're really excited too!! I've wanted to build something like this for 20 years.
Me too! It was literally the first thing I did when I got my first laptop. I spread sheeted everything lol. Anybody have any ideas on cost yet? Or not even cost, do we have any idea if it's going to be a one time fee or like a monthly subscription I haven't even looked it up or tried to research it so I have no clue whatsoever I'm also voice texting on my phone so please excuse the run-on sentences

+1. I've now paid twice for the content, once in paper & now electronically. I would expect that the entire content be made available in both formats.

I'm a little confused by your statement - the entire contents of the physical Monster Manual book is available in the Monster Manual on D&D Beyond, including all of the flavour text.
Where can I see this information quoted from the Monster Manual?
"The mysterious flumphs drift through the Underdark, propelled through the air by the jets whose sound gives them their name. A flumph glows faintly, reflecting its moods in its color. Soft pink means it is amused, deep blue is sadness, green expresses curiosity, and crimson is anger."
Which is only the first of about 4 or 5 sections of descriptive background. I can only see the information contained in the creature's stat block, which is great, but where's the rest?
EDIT: to further clarify. I have purchased the MM on Beyond.

It's kind of a bummer that we have to navigate to the compendium to see the lore info. Would be nice to have a expandable fluff section on the monster listing, or at least a "Go to compendium entry" to make it less cumbersome. (same thing with magical items and stuff)

I would never have known that I had to go to a different section of the site to get that information. Thank you very much!
And now my own request is changed to what filcat states above. Combine the information or at least give a direct link to the monster's Compendium secrion please.
Piling on here to say that this is probably my biggest gripe with DDB right now. Monster section entries should have links to the corresponding compendium entry. It isn't a deal breaker by any stretch, but it could be so much simpler.
Other than this, I have to say I'm really loving DDB. I've used it on 3 sessions I've DM'd and it's great.

Maybe I'm the one missing something? For example, in the entry for the Flumph
