The identify spell indicates that it will not reveal the nature of cursed items. The difficulty I've found in the online tabletop is the magic items listed include the description of the cursed item's negative effects in the same entry. Would it be possible to create the cursed entry as a separate addition that can be added to a character sheet? That way the base magic item detected shows what identify detects and the curse feature only adds in after attunement or the triggering effect. The same could be done for intelligent items leaving off the nature of the intelligent item if it is not immediately revealed to a player. Just a thought on how to smooth out gameplay a bit for us remote players and game masters.

Thanks for your time.
Just create a homebrew copy and give that to the players, could even give it a slightly different name to make it seem like a curse-free version that only shows its true identity once the curse is revealed.
The problem is if you see the non-cursed version in the magic items lists you may be inclined to think it is a real item. There wouldn't be any way to see it's not one without also revealing why it is there. This only creates confusion.
It is the responsibility of the DM to tell players what to add and make the relevant info available. If you were at a table you wouldn't tell them to look in the DMG for the item, you'd hand them a piece of paper with the relevant info on it. For D&D Beyond you can create a homebrew copy and give it to them.
Personally, I wouldn't bother. I'd just ask my players to not metagame. It is a roleplaying game, after all. Seems easier. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
