Since the team is apparently working on updating the underpinnings of the character sheet, it would be great to see changes to the way special abilities are represented. Things like a barbarian's rage, or a wizard's bladesong, appear as permanent modifiers to a character's stats. The stats modified by an ability, like resistances, speed, AC, and others should be on a toggle tied to an ability being active or not. This would stop issues with my players "forgetting" little things like their actual AC when not bladesinging for example. In addition, adding a round counter somewhere on the sheet to remind players to deactivate the ability would be a helpful plus. Thank you.
The 2024 version of Barbarian and Bladesinger actually already have toggle-able features for Rage and Bladesong - letting you enable or disable as needed and they do change your stats as detailed in the feature while enabled.
For 2014 versions, these are unlikely to be updated since they're legacy content but you can use homebrew items that apply the effects while equipped. Can also do this for buff spells, like Mage Armor.

While an interesting work around, I think the dev team at dndbeyond can do better. Creating temporary effects for skills, spells, or other causes should be added to the list of feature requests going into 2026 as they rework character sheets. We shouldn't have to homebrew standard rules. Thank you.

And if there's something players really struggle to remember then they can make reminder notes that show in the actions section.
