It would be really cool if there was a feature on the character sheet that would pop up as a reminder when you cast a concentration spell. Maybe have it also remind you which spell it was, and at what level you cast it (mostly to remind you of any damage or extras you get for casting it at a higher level.) And maybe a notification when you are about to cast an other concentration spell? Possibly have it so that whenever you take damage it reminds you to roll your CON Save to maintain it (maybe even calculate your Save DC too?)
I would also love to see how conditions affect my stats. Ex: I get grappled, I check off the grappled condition, and on my character sheet my Speed Temporarily gets changed to 0, with an indicator why it is marked that way.
Have been asking for this for a while, it’s exactly what everyone needs, including Critical Role (Matt seems to be the only one who remembers Con saves, most of the time).
I hear a Fight Club has added it now... your move DDB!
Has my vote. Would love for some kind of reminder that I have a concentration spell going. Especially if I try to cast another one and/or take damage. Both of these should trigger some kind of warning reminding me about an existing active concentration.
This actually would be a really cool idea to add to the Encounter Tracker that is currently in development. Whenever a player casts a concentration spell, it could automatically be added to the Tracker. This way, both the player and the DM can keep track of concentrations and have a viable way of managing it.
It feels like very little has changed on the character sheet front for quite some time now. Hopefully something is brewing and we’ll get a big update soon – or at least some of these small QoL additions.
It depends on what's currently on the roadmap. Along with this, I'd like to see the overhaul they have planned for the homebrew system. Apparently it will fix a few bugs that have been around for years.
I was going to create a thread asking for this but having found this one I'll add on. Making concentration checks is probably the most commonly forgotten mechanic in the game. Last week I had bless running, took damage a couple times, and no one remembered to have me make the concentration check. I didn't think of it until combat was done and at that point it was too late. I don't think it greatly impacted anything but immediately I thought I need a way to remember when I'm concentrating on a spell. I'd love to see some kind of toggle I can click on the character sheet that shows I'm concentrating on a spell, similar to the inspiration button that you can click on and off. Casting a spell in the sheet could toggle it automatically as well. Then when I input damage it could pop up and ask for a concentration check and even show the DC since I'd be entering the damage to trigger it. As others mentioned there's an opportunity to integrate with the encounter tracker as well. The dm could click that I'm concentrating and it would update in my character sheet. It could pop up a reminder to the dm as well in the encounter tracker when the player takes damage. There's a few levels of development there but to start just a simple toggle like already exists for inspiration with a reminder when you take damage should be fairly easy to implement and would be a really helpful feature.
if anything, I would like to see it listed in the spell list! just a check box or an icon or something that says "C". this has been a thing I've noticed with people swapping spells really fast and Im like "wait a moment, both those effects can't exist at the same time"
Would also love to see this. A lot of my PC's almost always have some sort of concintration spell up in a fight, so the reminder would be super helpful
I don't think I saw this on the developer roadmap :(
The developer roadmap hasn't been visible for months now. We have no idea what the developer roadmap looks like right now.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.
Adding in my voice for this. Some type of concentration toggle in the character sheet would be fantastic. It's a very easy thing to forget about and a way to help track it on the character sheet would go a long way to helping with this. Otherwise, I've just been using a separate note card that I flip when I have concentration on.
This is such a common thing that trips people up. Tracking concentration and reminding players to make their CON saves would be so helpful. Unfortunately too often it falls to the dm to remember. Not that players try to cheat but I think taking damage just naturally distracts the player. The DM has too much to keep track of so having a mechanism for keeping track of concentration and reminding players to make their save would be such a massive help.

Has there been any official word about Concentration tracking? Seems to be something that trips a lot of players and DMs up.

I feel that adding it to character sheet hp tracking or spell tracking could trigger a prompt on taking damage.. Right?
+1 This would be massively useful and is exactly in line with the convenience factor that convinced me to buy in to DnDBeyond
Why not add this as a Condition? That would be convenient.

I don't always use the office printer.
But when I do it's to print my character sheet.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
Echoing that I want a concentration tracker for spell usage

+1 for concentration as a condition, just seeing it in the initiative tracker would be a huge help
