i want to be able to buy individual items, subclasses, races, etc. instead of buying the whole book. i have no interest in a £30 book for like 5 things in it, that would be a waste of my money. granted i don’t know much about dnd and i don’t play with anyone other than my friends, shilling out loads of money for books that have 1 or 2 things i actually want is far beyond me.
Big BIG second on this one. So far I don't DM so I have no need for the entire book, so I would love to have this feature back.
Forget this! How about a freaking toggle for 2024 content!? Making a character is a nightmare with all of the content mixed. Stop trying to shove your garbage 2024 content down our throats. I pay for a DND beyond sub, it’d be nice to be able to use it without being irritated all of the time.
This one should (ideally) be a 15-minute alteration, and would be incredibly helpful:
Please allow for a negative "Fixed Value" when creating a Custom Action on the Character Sheet.
I have a Bard who just acquired the legacy version of Bigby's Hand from a homebrew item, since Magical Secrets now only allows choosing the 2024 version. I'm trying to create a Custom Action (Spell) to give myself a button to roll the original 4d8 damage on a hit when attacking with its Clenched Fist.
But whenever I choose that the Range of the attack is Ranged, and then set the Stat to CHA (so I get the correct melee spell attack modifier of +10,) it ALSO adds my CHA modifier to the 4d8 damage of the spell, which is wrong! If this was too low, I could just set the Fixed Value field to whatever needed to increase the modifier. But because the Fixed Value field doesn't allow negative numbers, I cannot reduce the flat modifier to 0.
This is a problem I've run into multiple times, and it would make Custom Actions MUCH more flexible to have this.
Since I'm assuming the Class creation tools are getting more refined (Since the addition of the Illrigger and the Lord of the Rings classes - plus the new PHB ones (and soon to be Artificer V2) - Could we have the feature Unlocked (Even if it's an Alpha, or a limit per account).
Even just a confirmation one way or the other whether the intention is to allow us to or not would be great.

We can’t even design homebrew warlock invocations and you want homebrew classes?! I like your chutzpah :)

My rationale is that they're able to differentiate, and organise the classes in such a way as to create a separation between the sources - 2014, 2024, Partnered Content, LotR, Critical Role etc. Same with Feats and backgrounds now, too. Since it's on record that Dndbeyond use the same (Or slightly more enhanced versions of) the Homebrew tools to build out their stuff I've always assumed it's a data source, caching/performance issue, rather than a possibility issue. It seems like they're nudging towards getting that resolved.
I always assumed the issue with Invocations was that they were implicitly tied to warlock, as a class feature (Think like Options on a homebrew subclass feature) - so allowing us to edit them or create new ones wouldn't map to their data structure. Same with fighting styles on a Battlemaster etc.
You are assuming alot if you think there is some frontend class creator, I think it is far more likely that each new "Class" is hardcoded in the backend and there is no clean UI interface, so unless you want people to have the ability to write code and have acces to the repos and database I doubt you will get this added anytime soon.
I may of course be wrong but new classes are added so few and far between that I doubt the time and effort has been put into making a user friendly UI to create them.
There is information scattered through the forums, but not well organized or easily searchable. Please create a section and/or wiki for all the homebrew documentation (and APIs, I can scrape them from the site but it'd be nicer if they were documented so plugins and extensions could interface more cleanly).
The character sheet in DND Beyond needs a toggle button where we can indicate whether a character is concentrating or not. Probably under Conditions would work best. I find that concentration is one thing that players (and DMs) frequently forget, so a visible reminder on the character sheet would be awesome!
ya, all the positive conditions, the options are currently only negative conditions, they should add invisibility, bless, heroic feast, pass without trace, bardic inspiration, etc. (and I'm sure Beyond 20 developer will take notice to fill in any gaps in the roll formulae, much love for Kakaroto)
I keep trying to get a response in discord, but multiple requests are just being blown off as spam. Just telling me it’s not a feature by non-developers, doesn’t negate that I would like the request to Become a feature.
simply put. I just want to be able to view the character sheet and use what ever features it provides, at any stage of a character creation.
A zero level character effectively. Not selecting a class, or any aspect of the character. Just a name.
We like to grow our character over time, discovering aspects and recording it over time. Setting attributes progressively, selecting a class or changing a class organicall, feats skills etc….
There are features in the DMs guide that let you earn things for your character set by the DM, incrementally, outside of the normal progression of a class
Where should i contact those who stole my DnDBeyond books? I can`t turn off this 2024 shit so half of my characters are broken. I, as a DM is sharing my content with multiple groups i DM for and everyone has left the platform. The new stuff is "ok", but its not what iv payed for and i wont subscribe anymore. It should be optional! Im raging hard and want my money back for all the books iv bought and i cant find anywhere where i can contact someone about it.
I certainly understand the frustration. I agree that the version should be completely selectable vs just enabling us to also see legacy stuff. We should be able to select which version of the rules we see in our campaigns and/or characters.
Add ability for us to go to specific pages in our various books. Many times the page numbers are given for certain subjects but we cannot go to the specific pages in the documentation.
Huge Third on this, A la carte purchases were the only reason I and probably a LOT of the player base actually bought anything on the marketplace, now I'm homebrewing everything because I'm not spending stupidly high prices for one subclass or species along with a bunch of content Ill most likely as a player, never use
Maps/encounters request: custom monster groupings and tokens for environmental items/loot/plot devices.
As it stands, when you add a mob to the map, you either have them as individuals or all in one huge group. E.G. 12 stirges on the map broken into three groups of 4. Right now the option is either 12 individuals or one group of 12.
Also, I want to be able to put the plot devices on the map that my characters need to interact with (books, keys, puzzle items) or loot that they can grab (weapons, magical items). These could simply be added as a separate table in the token lookup tool as "items"
Could you please add the possibility to mark some of the SOURCES as favourites and show them on top of the list, so that you don't always have to navigate through multiple pages and all available sources?
Search Request (QoL): I would like the option (a filter) to turn on/ off the results from a search query to only show content I own / or all content available.

Same here. I cancelled my sub and haven't spent a penny on DDB since they removed a la carte. I keep hearing complaints about DDB forcing the new contenet on us as well, but if we don't stop spending they won't be inclinded to care.

Seconded.
I wish I could put custom tags on my homebrew and then search by those tags (or search by the notes since that is an unrestricted text field).
Please check out my home-brewed Races, Spells, Feats, Magic Items, Backgrounds, and Subclasses.
all of the extras really, I use familiars far more often than wildshape and have the same issue
