It would be great if during character generation we could limit the available options to certain books. I'm thinking of scenarios where you own/have access to the Legendary Bundle (or books U-Z) but the group is limiting itself to books X,Y,Z.
I'd like to see an addition to the character creation that allows you to randomly generate a backstory based on the tables provided for players in XGtE.
Since Beyond now has the first full MtG source book, would it be possible to get the free variants put out by Wizards into Beyond as well? Zendikar is a setting that goes hand and hand with what most think of when D&D comes up. Would be great to have those races and stat blocks available in an official capacity.
I don't know if this has been talked about before, but I humbly request an icon or indicator located on/next to/around the AC section of the character sheet that shows you if the character has a shield equipped or not. This could appear as a smaller shield element located in a corner of the existing AC shield element, that either shows the AC bonus of the equipped shield (+1, +2, etc), or simply fills in like a proficiency bubble/circle when a shield is equipped.
This will be so handy for new players, as well as DMs that like to spring encounters on the party while they sleep or are otherwise caught without their shields.

Just click the defenses section to get the detailed information.
Much more useful would be to show, somehow, modifiers to defenses for things like Blur/Cloak of Displacement.

Actually, to expand on this idea a bit, it would be cool to see a bigger animated avatar of your character complete with its weapons and armor and corresponding bonusses(+1, etc),
you could maybe even animate conditions like the avatar becomes transparent when invisible, green-ish when poisoned, becomes stone-like when petrified, etc
You have seen this for the equipment part in many games, for example The Witcher games
maybe impossible but I thought would be cool. your thoughts?
I play in IRL, with 8 new players using DNDBeyond character sheets on their phones. They are still learning their characters, as well as the rules themselves. So for me and my players, equipped shield info at a glance, without clicking through 8 people’s phones, would be major.
Yeah, the defense modifiers you suggest would be handy too... but they're not relevant to my particular request.
I feel like there are a lot of classes that have core abilities that require saving throws that aren't magical or spell-related (e.g: Battlemaster Fighters, Monks), but there doesn't seem to be any way to create a magic item that increases the save DC of those abilities. Implementing something that could accomplish that would be nice.
I'd also like the ability to create a magic item that can increase the number of Ki points, Lay on Hands or Superiority Die the wearer has.
Arcane focus as a settable tick mark on other items - just like how pact weapon and hex weapon work for warlocks at the moment, but for every spell caster. Also, having separate Arcane foci for different multi classed spell casters.
I'm using Zendesk and have voted on this. However, it may be a good time to look at Zendesk, the number of people who actually created accounts/logged in/voted/contributed. If the number is super low (which I suspect it is) I would suggest this might be a failed channel.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic and very transparent. But the barrier of entry is too much for most people. Or maybe they don't want to vote? Maybe they have an API that you can imbed into forums? Let people easily click a simple upvote/downvote button within a forum thread as ideas are put into Zendesk (w/o requiring a Zendesk login).

Want to see Virtual Table Top like no other before it built within DnDBeyond.com? Upvote the feature request. It's 2nd highest voted so far:
NOTE: You will need to setup a zendesk account (which is not your DnDBeyond.com account, the team uses this 3rd party software). It's easy to do and your votes are needed!
Here is a really simple idea. How about flagging the user interface in some way to indicate that this user is a completionist and has purchased all available content in the Store?
I don't know... a gold star or sparkling ampersand?
Ever so often a player can't play and one of our group plays the character. Much like how Travis does for Ashley's character in critical role. It would be nice to be able to assign edit control for a character to another player in the campaign for a session. Or allow printable power to the assigned player.

You can have a character be unassigned and a new player in the campaign can claim it.
My DM suggested it be a limited subset of the data that could edited so as to keep what that player wants kept secret kept secret. Sure we can be adults and not see but sometimes the story you weave together needs a little mystery. But thanks for the tip
Also, that does rely on the original player unassigning it right. To be honest would be nice if the original player could temp assign, mark what not to share, and maybe hook a notification when stats change to slack or some equivalent. Would be nice if that could be say preset and the dm could temp assign if say original player is last minute out of the session.
Again, please make/allow us to upload larger character portraits. The current ones are barely half the size of a postage stamp and bloody difficult to size a decent image down to that and still have it read clearly as a portrait.
Please let us Homebrew NON-Magical Items. I couldn't find a way to do this so far. Two of the existing characters in my gang want brass knuckles. They don't need to be magic or anything, they just need to do 1d4 of damage or something and be brass knuckles. There's a lot that isn't in the Game as it exists, and being able to make stats for things that do not yet exist would be awesome. Same with Animals- My Ranger has a non-"monster" wolverine, and we had to invent him entirely, but I suppose that doesn't matter because I can't put her on DNDB since we're using the UA version of Ranger for her.. but you get the idea.
Due to the large amount of creations, it would be nice to be able to sort the content by date. It would allow people to see what the latest creations are and allow them to not have to click through possibly hundreds of pages just to find an item with a recent date on it.
Could folders for characters be a thing? I have a huge list of characters I made for different reasons, and if I could organize them, that would be great.

You have the ability to filter sources in various ways on the Standard and Quick Build character creation pages.
The ability to filter sources on the Randomize character creation page as well would be greatly appreciated.
I’m sure not everyone wants to drop Magic: The Gathering or Eberron content into their games, or only wants one of those.
Thanks.

The addition of the free MtG supplements like Plane Shift: Amonkhet would be amazing, or failing that, the ability to add Homebrew Cleric Domains.
Attempting a workaround to recreate my Cleric of Zeal is pretty obtuse currently.
Could folders for characters be a thing? I have a huge list of characters I made for different reasons, and if I could organize them, that would be great.
