I think this is relevant to put here. There is currently no category for custom ammunition and poisons. These creates lots of the item in an inventory when a player has multiples of one of those homebrew items. Additionally there is an error with custom cantrips. They are not displaying the increased damage at higher levels like normal cantrips do. Even if all I do is create a copy of a normal cantrip the custom one will not display properly.
Is there a way to integrate with a vtt? How would I import all of this to use with my online group? Companies like roll20 and fantasy grounds have their own compendiums that they want me to buy. What will be the dndbeyond reccomended solution to play DND online? I would like to have everything about my campaign in in dndbeyond so there is only one place everyone needs to go to get the information and then have some way of importing that information into a map and use the other common tools that the vtt already has.
is there any change in just getting a small part of the DM screen like fx. The players that are in your campaign that you can have a popup screen with the most important information for each player. AC, Passiv perception, HP (live update would be nice). this would be a great help for a hopefully real DM screen that we can customize with information from our bought content from DNDbeyond books.
I thought this was a sticky as well at one point. Has anyone heard anything lately from the devs about where this sits on the timetable, other than "it's in the works?"

There is a monthly developer update stream on Twitch where they discuss what is on the current roadmap, and what is planned for the future. The most recent one was last week.
If campaign mgmt also includes encounter building and initiative tracking - it would be absoluty fantastic to have very clear iconography or toggles per character that indicates if theyve used an action, movement, bonus, or reaction on their turns.
This way a DM never has to do the math of "wait, did you use X already?"
I would find it very useful to have a "DM View" option (a sort of pivot table, if you will). I envision something like a tabbed character sheet view only with the stats of each character in the campaign visible side-by-side. This isn't much an issue from a computer as the main page of a character sheet holds 99% of essential info and switching between tabs is easy. But from a mobile device, it can be frustrating to check everyone's skills as you have to navigate to the appropriate section, switch tabs to the next character, navigate, switch, etc.
Finaly they start on other tools... can't wait on the encounter builder and the monster builder !

I'm sure that this has been mentioned before but to quote dragonfire2020 "It would be wonderful to have a random item generator within the D&D Beyond suite of tools. I loved this site even before the revamp and enjoy it even more now. This would be a nice feature to have when handing out loot after an encounter! It would be awesome to be able to do this from within D&D Beyond, instead of looking up the tables rolling, etc., etc. or having to open a different website or tool. Unlike the book, it would be nice if it were to roll specific items as opposed to "a simple melee weapon", as well. All of this would be broken down by rarity, like the guide, and encounter difficulty. Maybe include a horde feature to produce multiple items and coins at once for something like a treasure room or when you slay a dragon? "
Been pretty happy with DND Beyond. The interface to the compendium and the character builder are both really pretty good. There is a lot that could be improved in both, for instance, better search in the compendium, and improved customization in the character builder. (More specific examples: I should be able to search just the DMG for something, or search for a section that has this word AND that word. I should be able to add basic customizations to characters, for instance, adding a free feat at level 1.)
The content sharing is fairly nice.
However, campaign management pretty much just really and truly sucks. First of all, of course, there's just about nothing there except for character building.
The worst thing is the 12 character limitation, but it is followed pretty quickly by the inflexibility of characters.
If you have to, limit players in a campaign. I get that.
Don't limit characters. Characters should freely move between players and the DM, and from one campaign to another. The fact that you limit characters, and limit them from moving, is bad, really really bad. Really really really bad.
I'm hundreds of bucks into D&D Beyond. The campaign management is SO bad, I'm really questioning my D&D Beyond investment.
While it’s not an issue for me personally, I can understand the frustration about the character vs. player limit, and I do hope they get around to addressing that. (They have said they want to, but there are LOTS of things they want to do). And yes, the global search function is far from great.
In terms of campaign management, they have been clear from the beginning that what exists now is a placeholder. At this point, its primary purpose is to allow for content sharing in campaigns. But improvements are on the roadmap. The first of those is an encounter builder that will go into Alpha for subscribers in 2019. Content management at the campaign level is also on the roadmap for 2019. These statements about the roadmap are based on Adam’s comments in the last two developer’s updates.

The limit on number of characters is based on your subscription level. Neither Hero Tier ($2.99/mo) nor Master Tier ($5.99/mo) limit the number of characters a player can create.
There is also no limit on moving characters between player and DM. Once you've created a character and added them to a campaign, there is an UNASSIGN action that disconnects the character from the player's account and leaves them available to be claimed by anyone else in the campaign.

Born in Italy, moved a bunch, living in Spain, my heart always belonged to Roleplaying Games
I am new to DnDBeyond. Apologies if this suggestion has already been discussed.
I am using the Campaign-Management feature to prepare for the Into The BorderLands adventure I am just starting into with my party. Since both the player's notes and the campaign description are public, the only place I have to put my notes are in the DM's notes section; but this would encompass both my "next game session"-notes as well as great notes/ideas that we've already played through but which I would like to "archive" for other sessions I may want to play in the future with other groups.
In other words, I think that in addition to the 3 current notes areas (ie: description, private notes, and public notes) there should be a 4th notes section; something like: "expanded description (DM-private)".
This is my interpretation of each area's use:
Adventure Description (public): this would be the overall description from the DM to the players of where they are at currently in the game and an area to foreshadow to the player's what's coming up in the next session or so
Campaign Description (DM-private): this is a DM-private area that would describe all of the details of how the DM is planning on running the adventure; both historical notes as well as very far into the future (further ahead than just the next session or so)
Player's Notes (public): an area for the DM and players to put important notes about things the players are already aware but want help remembering
DM's Notes (DM-private): similar to Player's Notes but for the DM; can contain very old notes which still matter to future aspects of the current adventure, as well as in-detail notes about the next session or so
Along with this expansion, I think the DM should be able to export the campaign's current state as a PDF; bonus points if the PDFs were versioned (with meta-notes) and saved in the DM's account here on DnDBeyond.
This has probably been mentioned already, but we need a way to create an NPC character page from a stat block, or at the very least to custom make one by putting the information in ourself. It wouldn't have all the stuff of a character sheet, but would let us track HP, spell slots, hit dice, etc over several sessions. The rest of the stuff could just be shown as the stat block on the page.

Almost like a merging of the character sheet and the NPC stat block?

I would love an optional DM screen for players (obviously toggle-able)
