So I'm a little confused on some of the homebrew modifiers and haven't been able to find a post or anything to clarify some of these questions.
Melee Weapon Attack and Ranged Weapon Attack, I have no idea what these modifiers do or how they are supposed to be implemented. Nothing I've done seems to actually change the items in any way. A dictionary or something explaining all of the modifier types would be helpful.
Also, some of the weapon property subtypes are missing, mainly dealing with firearms. You cannot ignore the Reload weapon property like you can for Loading of weapons like the cross bow. Nor can you add it is a weapon property.
The Range weapon property subtype also doesn't seem to make sense to me since you cannot truly ignore it (if you're homebrewing a weapon, the base weapon has a range and ignoring the property does not remove the base weapon's range). Adding it now gives it a range of 5/5, and you cannot modify that as there are not fields to do so properly. Nor can you override the base weapon's range for the same reason.
Aye. The homebrew system we have was not properly intended for us: it was originally just the tools they devs needed to add the official content and this was then opened up for our use due to the demand for homebrew.
The homebrew revamp planned will hopefully resolve a lot of the confusion and limitations because it would be built with homebrew actually in mind from the start. However, this revamp, if they're doing it properly, is a redesign of the system and is a very complicated thing (due to having to convert a current system not properly designed for the intention rather than making from scratch, and this is further complicated by trying to keep it compatible with homebrew already currently made, personally I'd use a dual system: tag everything current as "old system" and keep that in place as is and have the new system for anything new, it solves the conversion and compatibility issues but will require greater database resource and just tagging all active homebrew could lag the system depending on server speed and number of homebrew...).
So, grin and bear it for now, but a better homebrew system is on the way... Probably next year, perhaps later, but on the way.

The weapon attack modifiers give a bonus to all of that type of attack for the character.
The weapon properties that aren't in the basic rules aren't as accessible.
Range is a known issue.
The homebrew tools are planned to be completely redone in a way that makes them easier to use and add stuff. Until then, some stuff is kind of janky.
