I have a multiclassed ranger 3 / artificer 4 character. In the character builder, it says -- under Artificer Infusions-- 6 choices - 2nd level. Yet, as a 4th level artificer, I only have 4 infusions known (number of infusions are based on class level, not character level). However, the feature itself in the class builder allows me to (rightfully) choose 4, not 6.
Homebrew infusions:
I would really love the possibility to create homebrew infusions (like we do for spells or feats). Also, to have homebrew common magic items in My Collection appear in the replicate magic items list when "homebrew" is turned on for my players. *Or* (even better) manually decide in the homebrew item builder if an item can be imbued as an infusion-- and at which artificer level (2nd, 6th, 10th, or 14th).
Feedback:
- When selecting "replicate magic item" as an infusion, we see a long list of magic items, but not what these magic items do. We have to open a separate Dnd B window and browse each item individually to make a choice. It would be useful if the drop down menu actually offered tool-tipped items, with a popup window giving you the item info when you hover over an item. If not the drop down menu (because somehow difficult to implement), then the Replicable Items tables under Artificer Infusions feature in the character builder.
- On the digital character sheet, in the Infusions section of the Equipment, you can infuse *all* chosen infusions, even though you should only be able to infuse a limited number of items at a time. There is the right amount of "checkboxes" under the Infuse Item feature, but these should be reflected (unless I'm missing something) in the Infusions section.
Also, the "Remove Infusion" button is confusing; it could mean that you literally remove the selected infusion from your number of infusions known. I think "End Infusion" would be less confusing. The infusion is still "known", it's just no longer active.
Under "Infusions", above the infusion descriptions, there could be an Infused Items list with "Known Infusions" checkboxes, similar to the "Attuned Items" and "Items Requiring Attunement" in the Equipment section right above infusions.
Dropdowns cant contain tooltip information (technical limitation). After selecting the item, you can click it to view the info.
I figured there might be a technical limitation for dropdowns. Is there the same limitation for the listed items in the tables?
When selecting an item for Replicate Magic Item, the item description doesn't show up in the builder at the moment. You have to go on the digital character sheet > Infusions section to see the item description (once the infusion has been created). But that doesn't solve the issue of being able to see what an item does when making your "Replicate Magic Item" infusion choices. Of course, opening a new window and viewing the magic items in the "Magic Items" section of the "Game Rules" isn't a big hassle, but it's a small one. As BadEye likes to say, it's a "quality of life" request :P
You are "removing" the infusion from your inventory. You are not unlearning or forgetting it. Plus you need to go to a different page to do that.
I knew you could change your infusions in the character builder (which is the only place right now you can do so), but before knowing this, I hesitated to click the "Remove Infusion" button because i didn't want to "unlearn" an infusion right there in the character sheet. I just think "End Infusion" would be less confusing for many players.
(Incidentally, when going back to the character builder, it now says 7 choices under Artificer Infusions for my multiclassed 4th level artificer. It mysteriously increased from 6 to 7-- when it should be 4-- just by tinkering with my equipment and opening the builder again. Something odd is at work here.)

I don't think there is a reason not to link out from the charts, but there may be something I don't know.
I misunderstood the question a bit, so yeah, my advice is not that helpful, my bad.

Homebrew infusions are possible, and may be implemented along with fighting styles, metamagic, etc (which are planned).
Dropdowns cant contain tooltip information (technical limitation). After selecting the item, you can click it to view the info.
Some others have also noticed it doesn't restrict number of infusions and there is a report for it.

I like this infused items like the attuned slots idea.
They are possible, but are they planned? Hence the request :)
