We have a ton of fun occasionally running one shots with random characters generated in this manor with un-optimized stats and odd character builds (a kenku warlock with 0 cha bonus :-D). I have two suggestions for improvement of the random character generation functionality
1. Right now the only way to get the generate random character option is from the Create Character in the My characters section. If you click create unassigned character from inside the campaign you are part of, it doesn't ask how you want to create the character, but goes straight into the standard character creation, this limits you from being able to randomly create a character utilizing any shared content from your dm.
2. The second portion of this is being able to better disable certain content. In the most recent game we did utilizing the random button, it gave a bunch of ua content that no-one really knew how it functioned (psychic talent dice as one example) as well as others had stuff from ravnica/eborron that no-one really knows much about in our particular group. I see that you can specify single sources to include but none to exclude, but it would be nice in the random generation screen to be able to toggle inclusion of certain sources like in the normal standard character builder (homebrew, playtest, CR, Eberron, etc) before the character is generated.
I am currently building a campaign that only uses randomly generated characters. But, as MightySamson pointed out, there is no way to disable UA content from being part of the selection pool when characters are randomly generated. This is very frustrating, as most people are unfamiliar with UA content, and because that content is not officially part of the game, there can be issues such as over- or under-powered abilities, etc.
Just as we are able to turn Feats and Multiclassing on or off, we should be able to do so with UA content, CR content, etc.
I'd also like to be able to deselect certain classes. Right now, you can select the class of the randomized character, but I'd like to be able to remove a class from the selection pool, such as Artificer, for example.
The randomize feature is good, but with a few more options on the initial settings page, it could be great.

This came up again this past weekend. Almost all the players had UA on their random characters. Was a little frustrating.
