So.... why? ... It shouldn't be there at all. Any chance we can get a switch to choose core sources only. Just like feats and multi-classing switches.
I about was to launch in buying the Dndbeyond source books (despite already owning the physical books) purely for creating random characters for some of my players. Who are either too young, or not really interested in building their own character at this stage.
It's hard enough to stay on top of mechanics from official content! Let alone UA. And worse - it seems UA content is picked with a higher weighting. ie, if there's list if 10 options and 1 is from UA, chances are it'll pick that one.
As a DM, father and working full time - I'm already busy, I don't want to be building these characters for my players.
Here we have what could be an amazing tool for new players - that is really not usable.
UA is the least of its problems. The random creator is more of a toy and not something I would rely on to make character that work. It is not smart at all about picking things and has no concept of what abilities are good for what classes. It doesn't even use the standard array.
For a new player, using the Character Creator is pretty easy, at it walks you through character creation. The only hang up would be ability scores, and it doesn't suggest what a good assignment of the standard array is for your class.
And Houligan yeah I picked that up. I've been adjusting the ability scores to suit the class better. Although I'd like it to be a bit smarter (there are some smarter randomisers out there) But the randomness is ok for my purpose.

I would advise making a quick character, you don't need to put in everything, and it will be reasonable to play with.

Yeah, i too have a feature request asking for a toggle to disable ua content. I don't even mind the cruddy scores that it sometimes uses bc that can easily be changed. (and we use the random character traits and stuff bc it's fun for one-shots) Just the inclusion of all the UA stuff really bogs down the game, bc the players are having to re-read it all and try to understand what it means.

I'm not entirely sure if this is intended - but this has been passed along to the developers for further review. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks GPyro.
