I just learned that the character sheet revamp will not include containers. This is very, very disappointing. While the revamp is very welcome, at the same time, the primary reason my group was looking forward to it was for the companions and containers. This is a very frustrating aspect of the character sheet where you can't add something to your character's equipment list without it being included in their weight limit. No mules with saddlebags, no bags of holding, etc. To then learn it might not even be implemented this year has made it likely that we won't be using the sheets any time soon for our games.

I play a Warlock with the Book of Ancient Secrets feature.
It would be nice to be able to record and store my rituals as permitted by the invocation. Currently I can only record the spells granted by my Pact Magic ability.
I want to be able to do something unofficial sites have been doing for ages. I want sorting options. I want to be able to sort my races for dexterity, filter, ascending, descending. My backgrounds for abilities, my feats for stat bonuses.
Some players like to play the game in a certain way and this feature would make me go for Beyond.
Without it, it feels like its missing what other less official, professional, and large sites have been able to do for ages.
I've been a project manager for 30+ years. No client allows the response "I'm not telling you when it will be done." It is a very unprofessional approach.
TABS... being able to have even just tabs or folders for the DM to build and organize the campaign would be fabulous instead of one text block... I want a binder not a book to manage my campaign in.
a lot of what others have been saying as well with the combat creator and tracker, interactive maps, just lots of tools to track character sheet info like ac and health of the party.
It would be great to see the site develop things like roll20 and similar but even just the basics instead of a full fledged site would be helpful and actually be worth the cost for a subscription.
Not directly, but we are the paying customers, technically. That said, I agree with you Toph. Setting a hard date and missing it, regardless of the reason, will make just as many people mad as not giving a date upfront in the first place. It's a lose-lose situation. I'm happy to know these things are coming, and excited by the glimpses we're occasionally teased with. They'll be released when they are ready for the public and not before, which is fine by me. I've got my Legendary Bundle, Master sub and I'm in for the long game.
I apparently deleted the wrong comment. Didn't realize it was this threads. I had said something along the lines of "Except we aren't clients, we didn't hire the staff. They have every right to not give a timeline".
I agree with you as well it is a lose-lose but only in the sense that we are not getting our curiosity sated. We don't need to know anything and either way the product is what it is right now. I don't pay for DnDBeyond for what it will be, I pay for what it provides right now, though I am in it for the long run as well. DnD Beyond is very transparent in what you get for your money and every person decides if it is worth it. I bought the legendary bundle and master sub as well and I am perfectly happy with it as it is. Granted, I do want the character sheet revamp real bad, but I don't feel the need to demand a timeline. Every month they put out a stream, and there are changelogs released so it is definitely apparent that there is progress happening.
Yeah, that was the comment I responded to. Agreed 100%. I'm very happy with what we have now, but can see the shortcomings too. The Devs are more transparent than many, and obviously take user feedback into account. For me, the money spent was worth it for the existing tools and content, and things can only get better from here. I can not wait to play around with the new character sheet, and hopefully the homebrew subclasses not long after that.
Except, as others have said, we're not the client. We haven't hired Curse to make a product for us, we're purchasing a product. Yes, part of that purchase agreement is the promise of further development, but there's no promise about the timing.
For better or for worse, investment in DDB is a trust issue and if someone don't trust them I really don't think they should buy based on what we're told will happen. This goes for many tech companies, not just DDB.
I would like to see the ability to upload a small image reference for some custom objects your player might be carrying. More DM tools would be great such as encounter management and npc tracking with the ability to search back on typed in details (such as be location, monster/npc name, etc.). The site overall needs also better search features. Would love to specify a search in just the player handbook for instance as well as just see all the tables within said book as often I am just looking for a particular table.

This causes me to search out other sites.
What sites allowed you to search/filter backgrounds and feats for bonuses?
There was one called astranauta.github.io but due to obvious reasons the content was removed.
Ahh, I never saw that one. Thanks for the info though, wasn't aware there were those kind of options available at one point.

An encounter builder where you can just mouse-over the names of monsters to view their statblocks is gonna be perfect.
Also, maybe a Nintendo Switch app?
There's actually a few chrome extensions that do this exact thing. I use this toolbox one. I'll link to it if you wanna check it out.

I would love a Map creator/generator/homebrew
