Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum and I would like to address the issue of lack of simple tools.
Now I do get that WotC in order to attract a new audience of gamers must progress with new editions of D&D. It's the nature of evolution and progression in order to attract new customers and audience seeking new ways to entertain themselves and an introduction into the D&D universe. I can't help but feel that there is a lost love for the gamers out there that decided to stick with legacy editions of D&D 4th edition and lower. I'm a 3.5e fan.
Is it too much to ask for simple tools to help support our love for the game. I'm talking for items, gold and spells. Yes there are apps out there that people have decided to take there own time in creating to try and make the experience better and easier for some of these players however, they all seem to be lacking in some way. Would D&D Beyond or WotC ever consider this? I would imagine that this is something that could easily be used across all platforms or editions in D&D including 5e with a toggle to know which database and ruleset should be used.
Is it really to the point that the older players can go kick rocks?
I imagine that with the whole Covid situation that regardless of age, location or situation that players have dusted off there books in looking for something else to do including D&D and are now passing on this kind of entertainment to there kids or connecting with old or new friends.
D&D Beyond is owned and managed by Fandom, and provides rules & tools for the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons under license from Wizards of the Coast.
