Yeah, dark vision makes it look like creepy night vision camera work, not daytime. Plenty of room to catch unsettling glimpses to freak out the players.
Invisibility. Stealth. Sometimes it's scarier to see something coming and having to decide to whether fight, hide or run away. Thinking it's safe and there's nothing there because you looked really hard and then getting jumped anyway will have you questioning anything and everything forever more. Darkvision doesn't stop Fear effects, or illusions, or getting mind controlled. Darkvision doesn't stop you from imagining the worst that might happen.
Honestly, it's fine. You can work around this in a million different ways and with it in a million more.

just remember that darkvision only makes darkness dim light which is still scary
plus the no color clause makes for some good fake scares or traps
Exactly this. After the first few times I made an all-darkvision group roll perception at disadvantage while in complete darkness they started lighting torches again.

Darkness is a huge part in horror and many races have darkvision. Should I just erase racial darkvision in this campaign? How to deal with it?

It stops at 60 feet. Beyond that, a character with Darkvision is just as blind as anyone else. In a way, that's even worse.
<Insert clever signature here>
And remember, 60 feet is really not that much, if you are stumbling through a dark forest in the depth of night.
Don't forget that with only very few exceptions, dark vision doesn't work in magical darkness.
Darkvision also does not help if you move through thick fog or mist.

Have them be hunted by a gloomstalker ranger those are invisible to darkvision.
