An Order of Scribes Wizard can replace the damage type of any spell with another of the same level that is in their spellbook. That's the closest to what you're asking, and is a bad example because Magic Missile is already the best damage type (force).
Not RAW (Except rat’s suggestion above, to which I would add a sorcerer with transmute meta magic) but a friendly DM might let you homebrew something. Depending on which bits you want to use.

Well, there are situational reasons you might want to change Magic Missile's damage type- if you're fighting a mummy, for example, being able to switch its damage to fire makes it literally twice as effective. But 99% of the time there's no point.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

If I'm not mistaken this wouldn't work, I think both the spell's original damage type and the new transmuted damage type must both be int he list of acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, thunder. Being force damage by default I don't think you can transmute magic missile.

Can you infuse Magic Missile with another spell, say Poison splash, therefore creating a combined spell of the two?

Also, Poison Spray and Acid Splash are spells, but Poison Splash is not :)
The simplest answer to your question is no.
