So how many of you guys have taken previous versions modules and adventures and converted them to 5e? Before Yawning Portal, we had to do the leg work.
I have been running Scourge of the Sword Coast for my group for the last 8 months. Though its a NEXT adventure, there were still quite a bit of tweeks that had to happen to make it run with 5e. Also the CR level of the monsters was off significantly in places, so I retooled many of those encounters. Additionally I threw out the milestone character advancement and used RAW xp awards. This in turn had them level faster than the milestones (as some of those monsters are now much tougher {see: Duregar} ). Thus the tail end of the campaign has to be amped up to match.
I am excited that they have used Dead in Thay in YP. Saves me the effort of doing the revamp. However I will only be using the begining of the module, the battle at Bloodgate Keep. the Doom Vault isn't my cup of RPG Tea.
How about all of you?

I've taken bits and pieces from a few of my older campaigns and converted them to 5th edition. Never really cared much for pre-made, but I've found myself slowly migrating to them as my work schedule got more hectic.
While I am psyched for some of the content in YP, there are 40 years of amazing content out there. I am REALLY happy that they WotC finally is putting out something that is not just in FR. A few of those were originally set in Greyhawk. But I am looking forward to seeing what they did with them. Should help to set a standard.

I was going to convert The Sunless Citadel from 3e to 5e but then I got word about the Yawning Portal release, so I scrapped those plans and now wait patiently for my copy to arrive. I did convert over the old 3e module called 'Somethings Cooking' to 5e and it was well received. Who doesn't like taking on a Calzone Golem?! ;)
When 5e was still in the Beta Phase as D&D Next I took out my old and almost shredded B2 Keep on the Borderlands and converted it to match the new rule system. That was the first adventure I ever DM's and thought it would make a fitting start with the new system which brought me back to those first steps.
Some of my players remembered it and the newer folks had heard of it. It was a great nostalgic way to try out the new system.

The one I would love to see and I am trying to convert for 5e adventure for the group I am in is "The Rod Of Seven Parts". I have only just started it but for the most part any of the monsters that are in the 5e MM convert easy.
I was just reminiscing on another thread about the Red Hand of Doom adventure. I would love to see that fitted to 5e *__* It was one of my first real runs through DnD and it will always hold a special place in my heart, lol.

I believe here you can find an official guideline for conversion:

But as you said it is a lot of work...Praise YP!!
This is why I'm looking forward to Yawning Portal: I won't have to do the conversions myself and I'll have full art and pro-made maps, too.
