I ran into what is an apparently-known bug where Gnome Wizards, on their ascendance at level 2 into Illusionists, do not gain an additional cantrip in the place of their already-known Minor Illusion. According to the thread that has been running for the last few years it seems the best work-around for this is to create a homebrew feat that allows my character to gain a free cantrip. I have taken care of that, but now I'm not sure how to apply that Feat to the character sheet. I have made sure that Homebrew Content is enabled for the character, and that Prerequisites for Feats is turned off. But I still can't access the feat that I created by managing the characters feats.
You want to still be in the Manage Feats sidebar. Find the feat, and you should see a blue circle with a white exclamation mark. Expand the feat there, and you should have a dropdown to select a spell, if you made it right (which you probably did from your screenshot, only thing I can't tell if you set was the casting modifier - if you used the Magic Initiate feat as your base, it should be set to INT already).
I made a custom feat (my first) but I cannot seem to find it in the manage feats menu. Is there something I need to do before I can see homebrew feats in my character menu?
Later: Never mind, I figured out that the game world I was using has all homebrew content locked out.
I am experiencing this problem at the moment. I made my first custom feat but can't find it in the manage feats menu.
What should I do? Should I join a campaign with the character first? She's an npc I made to use in my own campaign and my players are not meant to see her character sheet.
If you made the character and the feat then then campaign status has nothing to do with anything. First of all double check that you saved the feat correctly, and that it's in your homebrew collection (homebrew you create automatically is in your collection, but it can be taken out, especially if you don't want people to see it in a campaign). Then double check that homebrew is turned on for the character sheet. Though if she's an NPC they don't tend to need character sheets, since they don't follow PC creation rules. If the feat has a prerequisite, does the character meet the prereqs? If not, it might be under 'unavailable feats' at the bottom. Turn off the requirement for meeting prereqs in settings, and try again.

So, could someone explain this process to me?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks, I did finally find it in the list of available feats.
But it's not letting me pick a cantrip, so apparently I didn't configure it correctly.
Do I have to manually add in all the available spells when I am creating the feat?
Including a link to what I made:

ETA: Here's what shows up on my character sheet

Thank you for your help. Pocketmouse, it was not in my homebrew collection. Once I added it to the collection, everything worked out fine.
