This is a question for one of the moderators here:
Is there anyway I can retrieve your maps @ 300 DPI instead of the 72 DPI the .jpg files currently download to?
There's there a link for this request? Would need ASAP if possible as a company's about to print maps for me right now for my (first ever) game tomorrow
There are many map makers on Patreon who have made their own maps of published adventures. These are often high-quality, high-resolution maps, and can be had for as little as $1 in many cases.
When you want to download a map image, please make sure that you click on the map to open the high-Res version of it (in "lightbox" mode) and then download that.
For play, you'll probably want to click on the [player version] green button instead and download from there.
Thanks but I really would prefer to stick to the actual maps used in these WoTC modules
The Mike Schley ones are from the original cartographer that WotC hired. Just for comparison, I looked at the map of Icewind Dale included in the Rime of the Frostmaiden module on D&D Beyond at it measures 6,000 x 4,215 pixels whereas the one on Mike's website lists the dimensions as 11,712 x 7,712 pixels, so it would appear that there are higher quality maps available. Mike offers print and digital from his store.
Hey there, so being new to Maps, what advice would you have if I'm needing to use maps from Tales From the Yawning Portal? Other than wait for Beyond to catch up and make them available?

If you don't already have the digital versions of the adventure on DnDBeyond, just Google the adventure and see if any independent mapmakers have produced their own versions. You may have to pay a small amount to access them, but it's cool to support artists.

This thread isn't about the D&D Beyond VTT called Maps, but about maps published in adventure books. Please start a new thread
Thanks! Any suggestions on sources? The ones I find when I google it are low res jpegs. I definitely don't mind paying a bit for someone's content.
Well, each map maker has their own interests, so you need to look around a bit. I've used:
DND Cartographers
DnDavid
Elysium Cartography
InspiraSean86
PogS Props
Silver Compass Maps
Tale Maps
If you're playing a published adventure, just google the adventure name + Pateon, or go to patreon and search for the adventure. Sometimes it takes some digging.

The maps are provided at the highest resolution D&D Beyond can offer

Thanks for your response
Maybe the maps offered on Mike Schley's website are in higher quality? Not sure myself.
