I'm new here and trying to decide if it makes sense to get my players to use this tool. We play a lot virtually now and it would be great if, 1. I could see my players character sheets when needed, 2. see their die rolls (if we use the online die roller), 3. easily access and share rules and reference materials, and so on. Is this kind of thing an option and if so, where can I find more about it? Thanks, -Rom
Give Campaign's Join Link to Players > They Join with their character sheets.
From the campaign page you can view their character sheets, even edit them if you need, and there's a Game Log to show rolls they have made from their sheet.
As for rules and references, literally "Game Rules" menu at top, from there you can access everything. The Sources menu features the books.

Just to clarify Cyb3rM1nd's post, "Game Rules" will allow you to see any of the basic rules and any content that you've purchased here on DDB. If you want to look at a monster that is only in the MM and not the basic rules, for example, you'll need to have purchased it in the marketplace here.
Exactly as stated above. Someone in the group will want to buy a bunch of content here to open up subclasses and feats and stuff. Once that's done someone wants a Master tier subscription to content share and have a campaign with all the stuff available to the group. Our groups use it and it is a highly helpful tool, even for us playing in person.

I have found DDB to be a great help while running games both virtually and in person. Their Discord bot is fantastic as well. If one of your players wants to use a character option that is not in the Basic Rules, they will have to purchase that subclass/spell/feat/magic item or the sourcebook the option comes from. You can always homebrew the thing you want for free too (do not publish them, just keep them in your private collection). If you and/or your players want to buy multiple books and share them with each other within the campaign, one of you will have to get a Master Tier subscription.
Very helpful info, thank you all. Sorry for the delay here, but I'm looking at creating a new campaign and want to try leaning on the site more heavily.
If I subscribe at the Master level and even get some books (core and more maybe), do my players need to pay anything or can they use the free account and use my shared books for there characters? Under what circumstances would my players need to pony up money? I want to make sure the expectations are clear before I give them my credit card!

With a Master tier sub, you can enable this for the campaign. Anyone in that campaign can access any purchased content that anybody in the campaign has purchased. So, yes, if you bought the core three and enabled Content Sharing, everyone else can use those books without having to pay a penny.
