Hey, I have been trying to find item prices for +1, 2, and 3 weapons, but there does not seem to be any prices on a lot of them?? Only the common ones. And the prices I do find are ridiculous. I mean a +1 dagger costing 1000gp when a common costs less than 1gp?? Anyone out there who can help??
5E doesn't set prices for items aside from basic stuff. Instead, there are price ranges suggested based on rarity. This is because an item might vary drastically in value from one setting to the next, and even from one location to the next within the same setting. It's not really practical or convenient (and the rarities sometimes seem off too), but it's what we got and at least it pushes for some verissimilitude in the sense that economies are heterogeneous.
There's tons of discourse about item pricing on the internet though. With some googling you'll find lists and systems galore.
DMG guidance (135) is 100g - 500g for uncommon (Weapon +1). It's important to remember that a +1 weapon adds to the attack roll AND the damage roll. In the early stages of the game a +1 is just short of adding 5% to a die roll. As if that wasn't enough, damage from a +1 weapon is now magical damage which is important against certain adversaries.
We scale prices with damage output. Dagger would be 150g (1d4 damage) where a Great Sword would be like 550g (2d6 damage)

I always put weapons near the high end of their rarity bracket, so all +1 weapons would be in the 400-600 range, +2 and higher are infrequently for sale.

Xanathar's Guide to Everything has expanded rules for buying magic items during down time, including how to roll to determine price. I usually use those as a guideline for setting magic item prices

Someone made this:
Sane_Magical_Prices.pdf - Google Drive
You are right that they begin with 1K GP for +1 magic weapons. I'm not sure if this has been updated re: Xanathar's or not.
I prefer to combine a second property such as vicious to a weapon for that price.
Thank you for your time and please have a very pleasant day.
