I looked and didn’t see it anywhere. I doubt it- it’d be like buying miniatures digitally. Even if they just had the rulebook, you wouldn’t get the physical game without the physical book anyway, so there’s not much of a point unfortunately.
The quality of the game for it's price point is total crap. Not even remotely worth the price.
You have a copy?

Yes. got it yesterday. The cardboard is so cheap. It is probably closer to paper then real cardboard. some of mine are warping cause they are so thin. so when they are on the table the spin because they don't sit flat.
I have 200ish board games, and this game should be worth $40 at most (with out the book). And that is $cnd. the only reason I would even put it that high is cause it does have 320 cards.
The quality makes the price point a total rip off.
That sucks. I wanted it but didn't get it because my wife isn't into the war side of the game. Glad I didn't now.

Well, can I ask where you got a copy of the game? (If you are also in Canada, it;s all the more important). Was yours obtained via- physical pre-order or did you see it at retail somewhere? If so, where?

I preordered through my FLGS. Yesterday was release day. So it should be out in all stores now.

There are plenty of boardgames implemented digitally. Lords of Waterdeep is on Steam, for example. There's no reason WoK couldn't be implemented, and if the game is truly unplayable without the RPG book, enough of it to make the game playable could be stripped out and added to the rulebook.
A lot of games are played online over Discord and elsewhere, a fact WotC clearly knows, given the VTT planned to sell us ephemeral miniatures. If a group from around the world wants to play the Krynn module, they'll probably want to play the wargame too. If the boardgame is any good on, people could play it as a standalone too.

After playing it a couple of times the game is actually pretty interesting.
While you can play it as a stand alone game, it still is very specific for that module, because it is scenario based.
You couldn't just drop it into a Rise of Tiamat campaign (or any campaign) without some work. The end of that module could really use something like this.
It will be interesting to see what they do with it. Will there be little expansions for different campaigns within Dragonlance?
Based on the "hint" at the end we should see Kit and the Blue Dragon army next. will it be an expansion or a whole new Warriors of Krynn?

How hard do you think it would be to take the mechanical scaffolding and make your own scenarios, perhaps with custom maps and minis? I miss old Birthright, which was basically a development of the old-school idea of characters building strongholds, gathering followers, and becoming rulers. MCDM has Strongholds & Followers and Kingdoms & Warfare, but a more abstract version could play faster, which you’d probably want if war is a major theme in a campaign.

I don't think it would be too tough for anyone that is creative. Which I am not.
A lot of stuff is story specific, but it is mostly just fluff. I'm sure you could change the wording of a few things to make it fit. even Commanders just change their names, and customize new ones. I would use the same abilities to not screw with balance, just change the name and image.
Also, this is very much a stronger force vs weaker force. a lot of times the PC's are there to try and delay and get things done before the inevitable. i'm not sure what would happen if you made the armies more equal for a different campaign. I haven't dug that deep yet.
Honestly one of the biggest disappointments is the "porting" characters into the game. A lot of videos and articles talk about this.
But in reality all you do is "take over" the same class. There is no porting or customizing your character. Which is a missed opportunity if you ask me. this really isn't that big of a deal, but seems like a little bit of "false advertising". It would be easy to fix with an expansion.
There are 6 figs and 12 classes. No class for Artificer. (??) Not all figs match the 12 classes. If you have a Sorc, Wizard, and warlock in your party...good luck telling who is who. It would seem you can only have 1 of each class. unless you "share" cards. So it is going to be better if everyone has their own fig. (hooray for 3d printing)
If you are a Sorc you get these 4 cards based the 6 abilities. would have been nice to "build" based on your character, like they were advertising. If you are a sorc your card says you get a CHA, CHA, DEX, WIS card (I cannot remember exactly) Then it makes no difference how your character is built, that is what you get. And the abilities are all handcuffed as well. you get what you get if that is your class. There is no "porting" characters in.

They always leave out Atrificers, because they insist that in the many high-magic settings, magic items are too rare to sell. ERftLW didn't do artificers as well as 3.5 days, and the Tasha's version didn't improve much. They were notably left off the expert classes doc for One D&D, though they might need their own supplement book that includes all the magic items, with prices and a better crafting system. The magic level of a campaign is the prerogative of the DM running it, so they can drop the excuse of items being too rare.

If I could afford to buy the game, I would try to photograph the pieces top-down, recreate the cards digitally, and add it to my Dragonlance campaign. Would be the same thing as streaming it being played at a table, provided I actually bought it. Which I can't.
Because, you know....I'm poor. And I had to pay double for the adventure (here and on roll20).
I can't afford to get the game and I don't really want the game, I just want the combat scenarios 1,4,7,8,11,and 12 because they are relavant to the SotDQ adventure and I want to add some mass combat into my game, I don't really plan on using the rules just the scenarios so it's not even worth buying, if there was a cheeper pdf version of the scenarios I'd buy those just so I can get the ones I need.
Mmm, interesting discussion. I got the book as I get all the books, did not get the board game - not my players are not I. The same place so a digital interpretation would be good. I’ll see what it’s like to play sans board game.

Can I get a digital-only copy of the wargame?
