I'm making a D&D character right now, and I want him to speak Modron because it fits his backstory. Are there any feats, abilities or backgrounds that would let me speak Modron? Or do I have to add it manually in the Custom Languages?
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

If want a thematic reason, a Philosopher or Enigneer interested in planar topics might know some basic modron, enough to boss around a monodrone or two.
If memory serves, there are several classes that bestow the ability to be understood by nearly any creature capable of some form of speech.
”College of Eloquence” Bards get an ability like this at 6th Level, I believe.
”Aberrant Mind” Sorcerers can communicate & be understood telepathically as soon as 1st Level.
As a DM, I would rule that a “Clockwork Soul” Sorcerer would also be able to innately speak Modron; and to some extent, an Artificer who is skilled in creating constructs.
A “Custom Lineage” does, however, provide the most flexibility in creating your specific character concept, as it would allow you to build your character as you please, as long as your GM approves the choice (and I don’t see why they wouldn’t).
Modron isn't an available language on drop down menu because it's spoken only by Modrons and isn't listed in the PHB as an available language option.
Can this be gotten around via homebrew? I'm building a Clockwork Soul Sorcerer and I would like to have Modron as the language that my feat grants me. Marquesian "starts with an "M" I might choose that and just say that she speaks Modrons and be done with it.

If you press the little gear next to Proficiencies and Languages on your sheet, you should have an option to add a custom language. You could just type in Modron.

Thank you, I never noticed that little gear before. There's one like it elsewhere one the sheet, so not only did you answer my question, but I think you probably answered questions that I didn't even know I had!

If you have any fire alarms, just take out their batteries whenever he wants to talk in Modron.
Edit: I realize now that's not what you're asking. Any background or race that gives you access to a language of your choice can give you Modron.

My homebrew content: Monsters, subclasses, Magic items, Feats, spells, races, backgrounds

Really any race or class feature that allows you to pick a language allows modron as an option.
That's weird, whenever I have the language drop-down there's no Modron on the list.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

Yes, you can definitely do that.
This is why I like physical character sheets.
