I've already cancelled my sub. It runs out in june, so i'll use it until then, unless something positive happens. We don't need WOTC as much as they need us.
I have three active campaigns on here. And for most of my players DDB is all they’ve known, so some kind of online integration system is necessary for us, but I have looked at others and know more are out there. As soon as I can figure out how to move them to another system I’m canceling. If they bring back the OGL 1.0, I’ll consider staying, but it depends on how far along I am in the switch. I am an optimistic person, and I really really hope that the creative teams behind the scenes win out over the corporate greed. I know how unlikely that is, but I do play a fantasy game, and the magic at the table is very much something I believe in.
30 per month for the top tier. No home brew for the basic tier. This - along with the VTT strategy they are taking. I don't play Warhammer 40K or Fantasy Battles for a reason. I don't like being jerked around by pseudo-monopolistic and manipulative policies. What the suits fail to understand is the game isn't just their rulebooks and adventures. It's also OUR creativity that makes OUR games possible. We aren't passive. I've played a long time. I can dust off quite a few game systems any time I feel like it and I am sure I am not alone in that.
I love the fact this survey has two options. For the record WotC executives if I wasn't running a DnD campaign through the Boys and Girls club where the kids are using my account to run their characters I would be canceling it. So I guess you have till May to fix, repair and make amends to the thousands in the D&D community or you WILL be losing another subscriber. Start by firing every money grubbing, never played the game, don't understand it or the community and thinks we are all idiots if they thi k we believe the BS they are currently shoveling, executive currently killing OUR game.
I'm not canceling my current sub, but I'm definitely NOT re-upping once it's done.
This just keeps getting worse, the longer it goes on, and it's not even been going on that long, to begin with. Even if they dropped the BS, they've already done so much damage to themselves and the brand name, so hearing that they're just taking steps to make it worse and digging themselves into a much larger hole...
I just can't justify subbing to a company that is willing to do that.
All I see and hear is hyperventilating over unsubstantiated rumors. To me, this reeks of Ryan Dancey pulling some kind of shenanigan to benefit whatever he's doing now.

The only rumor that isn't substantiated is the recent talk of ai dms and increased subscription costs. But those are essentially from similar sources to the OGL leaks - which again, is not a rumor, it happened - which makes this at least plausible.
It's not some conspiracy by Wizards competition, it's Wizards fundamentally not understanding their own gaming community.
The rumor mainly talks about an increase in monthly subscription costs and the removal of the Homebrew feature for free users. Master Tier (the highest current tier) will be priced at $30 with the rumored proposal for the future of Beyond. As anyone would tell you, that's a ridiculous price that no one in their right mind would pay unless there's a really good perk to being that tier. If what we currently get out of Master is all we receive, then no one is going to fall for that. The rumor did share they would be releasing monthly content for those subscribers but no one knows what it is yet. Removing the Homebrewing option for free users could be anything from they can't make their own content to even being prevented from using it from their DM's creations. But it would also deauthorize OGL 1.0a.
As to answer the question for this thread, I personally haven't unsubscribed yet due to the torrent of information I still have on this sight for the campaigns I'm playing in and the ones I'm running. The OGL didn't effect me personally (besides possible dreams of releasing monetized content at some point), so unsubscribing didn't seem like the right thing to do at the time of the announcement. I'll wait to see exactly what happens as far as subscription prices and content from WotC goes. If all else fails, like everyone else, I have plenty of other programs I can use to run D&D. D&D Beyond has never been an essential part of my experience. Its just been a more convenient place to store characters, items, encounters, and campaigns.

You can cancel now. You won't lose access to anything until your subscription runs out.

I'm looking at Alchemy at this moment. Still have to dig in; but I've heard good things...

It's not the arrow with my name on it that worries me. It's the arrow that says, "To whom it may concern".
This, exactly this. Its not a mistake they are actively speaking poorly of their customers and treating them like they’re mindless idiots who will just forgive and forget and let them do whatever they want. I will never buy wotc stuff again
this right there well said
I am watching a Youtube video claiming they plan on charging $30 a month for their top tier in the future. I will definitely not pay that much.
After hearing their rumored plans about how they are going to price DnD Beyond in the future - that was the tipping point for me - I canceled.
I've already cancelled my sub. It runs out in june, so i'll use it until then, unless something positive happens. We don't need WOTC as much as they need us.

What are the rumors?
I never subscribed in the first place. But I am sure as hell not going to buy anything straight from WoTC ever again.

P.S. For the record, you are NOT winning!

Never give up! Never surrender!
I guess I plan on cancelling if I already cancelled, right?
No more money from me for a long time, I think. Been pretty disappointed with the latest WotC releases.
Yeah nothing they have done has swayed me, they have lost me as a paying customer. Support indie publishers and homebrew moving forward.
If you find this account it is no longer active as I am boycotting WOTC and their products

I stopped my subscription. Trying to figure out a way to preserve my online book purchases and then I am done after our campaign is over.
Moving to books only and C&C for any campaigns I start in the future most likely. We might try PF, but its a little too crunchy for my playgroup.
