My friend and I are trying to go in together on unlocking all the character builder options. We have each already unlocked a couple books. What is the easiest way to do this?
To get the Legendary Bundle. It includes all the official books and offers 15% off on future purchases.
It's mighty expensive though, and not worth it in my opinion - as with all the bundles that aren't a fixed set, there has been a lot of content that's been added that you'll never use. You're talk over $1k for the Legendary at this point, and you'll probably only use a few hundred dollars' worth. You're best buying stuff as you need it.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Similar to Link’s reply, I’m in the ‘buy it when you actually want to use it’ camp….and then buy all the related options in that book. I don’t recommend the legendary bundle, but that chunk of the book options that come in a bundled price ( so with MotM, you’d purchase all the race options together since it’s a cheaper bundled price without having to buy the whole book). A bit more tedious but way cheaper.

If you're only looking for the character options your best bet is to buy the individual sections in each book rather than buy the whole thing. Go to the market place, click on the book you're looking at and scroll to the bottom and you'll see individual parts available, things like subclasses, backgrounds and races. They're usually $1.99 each or a slightly saving to buy them all and the cost of anything you buy gets deducted from the total cost of the book so if it later comes up in a sale and you want to grab the whole thing it'll be reduced accordingly
Depending on your budget a middle ground option could be the sourcebook bundle, still spendy, but it will get most of what you want and includes a 10% discount on future book purchases too.

CENSORSHIP IS THE TOOL OF COWARDS and WANNA BE TYRANTS.
You'll need to buy all of Tasha's, the optional class features aren't available as a separate purchase. And one of you will need to have a master tier subscription so that you can have campaign sharing, for both of you to be able to access the materials on your separate accounts.
