The time has come, talked it over with the players and agree we simply no longer need Dndbeyond. Outside of having the character building tool and references to find spells this site has nothing else to offer for the group all of these we can access elsewhere for free without a subscription. The monetary gain is simply a bonus on top of the Ethical concerns we all have for the parent company and what they seem intent on doing in the future. To say we won't play dnd ever again would be stupid, reductive and outright wrong but we will no longer give the company who owns the game money going forth.
The trust for the company is tarnished beyond consideration.
Good stuff. My group still plays with #2 pencils, paper character sheets, and neat looking dice that make that ever so awesome clickity-clackity sound.
So D&D Beyond was never for us in the first place. I just use my free account to grab the free stuff. Got my hands on Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn, then printed it to a PDF to run at an actual, physical table. Yay PDFs!
Good gaming, my friend. And may you always roll high.
