The Evil Orc marauders that worship Gruumsh that are the essence of evil that slaughter for the sake of slaughter. The Orcs that will raid a human village and proceed to loot and eat the dead. Those Orcs.
Oh ok, no problem. You want to use the Orc Berserker maybe mixed with some Orc Cultist Fanatics. Might use an Orc Tough Boss as well.
As a note, those are options currently available via the free Scions of Evil adventure, but there will be a lot more once the Monster Manual is out. Hope that helps :)

every monster in monster manual 2014, volos guide to monsters, mordenkainen and monsters of the multiverse should been in it. and frankly every monster from the hardcover source and adventure books should been in it too. ONE SOURCE FOR IT ALL. a fresh start to push 2024 and make it worth it.
Eh, there's pros and cons. Honestly, I'd almost rather they go the other way and give a few specialist NPC blocks for the PHB races as well.
Eh, the only real issue with doing orcs with NPC templates is that there aren't convenient axe-wielding NPC templates in 2014, and it would be useful to have axe-wielding templates anyway. For example, more generic templates would be something like:
Mook (CR 1/8): Str 12, Dex 12, Con 12, 2d8+2 (11) hp, attack +3/any simple weapon +1, leather, padded, or hide armor (AC 12-13), shield (AC +2) if one-handed weapon.
Grunt (CR 1/4): Str 14, Dex 14, Con 14, 2d8+4 (13) hp, attack +4/any martial weapon +2, chain shirt or scale (AC 15-16), shield (AC +2) if one-handed weapon.
Warrior (CR 1/2): as grunt, but increase HD to 3d8+6 (19), add weapon mastery with chosen weapon, add a fighting style or the martial adept feat.
Note that adding any species template would be a risk of increasing the CR.

Why would there be an article about it? If it is a beast and the DM OKs the selection then you should be able to use it as one of your options.
There was an indication at some point (and I can’t recall where I saw it) that there would be more higher CR Beasts in the new MM to give Moon Druids more options. So far, I think we’ve only seen some erstwhile Beasts moved to other Creature Types (e.g. Giant Eagles, Elk and Owls are now Celestials), so it would be nice to see some new higher CR Beasts previewed (especially as I have a Moon Druid lined up for the campaign my son’s planning to start when he gets the new MM!).

I think they meant Early Access would be 4th Feb in America.
They always do, and not just the US but the US west coast. Basically it goes live once DDB staff get into the office
It's 5:30am EDT on the 4th, and still no MM. I was hoping I could read it in bed (it's 11:30pm on the 4th, in Australia).
