The best sheet is the one you make for yourself, because then it has exactly what you want on it, and usually right where you want it to be too.
That said, after my own creations that incorporate house-rules and are organized to my groups' preference, I find I prefer the official sheet just slightly more than loose leaf college ruled paper and a pen/pencil combination for the permanent and temporary details, with all other sheets I've seen being below that.
/u/supersonic159's Current Standard. It's not fancy and it could do with a substantial update, but it's what I use as a player because every other sheet annoys me (more than Current Standard). I'm holding on to the hope that DDB's implementation of character sheets isn't just pretty on the screen, but can be printed out and functional at the table for P&P play.

I personally don't like any of the character sheets I've seen. They either have way too much superfluous information on them or not enough space for things that matter. For example, if you actually want to track weight and encumbrance, the normal sheet is pretty terrible for that.
Custom sheets are really best, but they take some time to make. I also like playing with cards. The sheet just says, "Lay on Hands", but the card has the full rules in case you forget.
I'm a fan of MorePurpleMoreBetter's auto-fillable character sheet, which I've both printed out for at the table use and keep as a PDF on my computer to update when I get home from games. It almost includes too much information, but you can obviously pick and choose which pages you'd like to use.

This * (where'd I put that infinity symbol again???)
It's not so much the sheet its self that's superior, but the darn thing is a full-scale character generator. I wish I'd found it sooner.

Exactly!! I'm the unofficial character creation helper in my Saturday game, and this past weekend one of my party needed me to roll his brother's character because they didn't have time to get together. It was about three hours before the game was to start. He gave me class and race, and I had some pre-rolled stats, my computer, and this sheet. All he had to do when I got to my FLGS was give me the small details and his sheet was ready to go before the game started.

My favorites are the ones that pop up on r/dnd and other places where someone has hand drawn the sheet to have just as much personality as their character. Too bad I can't draw :(

I don't have an examples, but I like to make my own, and sometimes when I have the time and ambition I make them for my party as well. Someone linked Julian of Midguard. Mine are similar (though we have different art styles). I tend to do them on bristol with copic markers, and then make copies for my players to write on and give them the originals to keep.
I agree that the standard sheets just don't have the right space management. There isn't enough space for important things on the main sheet like all the various abilities for classes that get lots of abilities to keep track of.
It might be that I can't draw. But I much prefer making ones in excel and arranging materials in a way that makes sense for the character I'm playing at that moment. (Also super fast to update once leveling up)

I've seen some amazing customized character sheets. They're awesome.
Please post a couple if you find time to snap a photo.

Not a fan of people who like to draw attention to themselves by having annoying animations that I can't block or turn off.

I either use one of the official ones or fill out my own on a sheet of paper, I usually design the character on a sheet of paper and transfer the info to the standard with a side paper for additional notes.

The official ones are perfectly fine and well made:

Here's an example of a sheet that has almost all of the info you really need stat wise in game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywZ0TcUh3l0&t=2572s. Just missing weapons.

I love Jillian of Midgard's custom character sheets. She integrates a beautiful piece of character art into the stat sheet.
