I began adventuring recently after a nearly 30 year hiatus. I can not seem to find the best information on the conditions of 0 HP, -HP and losing twice your maximum HP. My questions are simple. Is the DnD 5e wiki correct here? If so no reply is needed. I just need some experts to confirm this link to be accurate. Thank you:
When you reach 0 hp you stop. You are considered unconscience There are no negative hit points in 5e. Instead at the end of your turn you make a death saving throw. After three failures you die. Getting hit by any creature within 5 ft grants two failures. Any creature over 5ft grants one failure.
The exception is that once you reach zero hp if the damage remaining is equal to or greater than your Max hp you automatically die.
Thanks. The no negative HP is key. Death saving throws makes sense. I literally went from 1980's AD&D 30 years ago to 5e a few weeks ago. So it was a lot to take in. New races and classes are one thing but d20 initiative, armor class going up rather than down, cantrips, Clerics can use crossbows, all cool changes but taking some time.. I am hooked again! Love this site.

I started with 3rd/3.5 mostly skipped 4th, so I haven't had many issues. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
