My players and I have agreed to take a small break from our super serious Dungeons of the Mad Mage campaign to do some short intermission campaigns for a couple of weekends. And we wanted to go with a nonsensical super hero campaign.
For this campaign, I was going to have some premade characters for them to choose from or that they may encounter. So I am looking for character builds that are basically like one trick ponies or, rather, builds that can do one thing super freaking well and usually at the expense of everything else. Anything that can be considered enough of a super power for it to factor into their super hero identity. (Think: My Hero Academia)
You get bonus points if you also include a super hero identity (Safe for work, but nonsensical would be appreciated)
I'd suggest using point buy to help you get some outrageously min/maxed stats. That's what helped me create my Aarakocra Rogue for the Demonplague who was a blast to play and was VERY specialized. Inquisitor Rogue with the Observant feat and maxed out Dex and Wisdom, even at low levels her passive perception was off the charts. She sees everything, can read people from a mile away, and has pinpoint aim with her arrows. Of course she's not strong, not smart, and incredibly awkward. She'd probably work for Hawkeye if you're equating to a super hero.
Doesn't matter, really. Since these will be short campaigns, there will be pretty much no progression and the players are going to try and use their "power" over everything else anyway. I will end up leveling everyone up to the highest level PC anyway.

This is EXACTLY the type of thing I am looking for! Thank you!!
I'd try for some of the 'this doesn't usually help, but when it does it's amazing!' stuff. Suplex Monks use grapple and movement options to deal fall damage instead of traditional attacks. Goliath or Orc for Large Built and Strength allows better straight grapples, but Tabaxi allows for more movement in a round. Grapple, pop all movement buffs, use Monk feature to run straight up a wall, then drop the target or ride them down.
Living Wall, make a Duregar Dwarf or Druid. Make an AC Monster and make yourself Large. Take the Dodge action and be living cover for ranged party members. Lost a Paladin that way, but we always remember Barragon, who became a wall after accidentally pulling the entire cave's worth of creatures into the fight.
Play a small race and use the U.A. Class Variant Ranger Beastmaster. Ride your pet as a mongol archer or gnome knight on a pug.
Pick a damage type and play a Wizard with only spells that does that.
Alternate living wall, but it requires choke points. 1lvl cleric, min 3lvl Mastermind rogue. High Wis for your saving throw, high Dex, anything left in con for hp. Stand in choke point, Cast sanctuary(bonus action), take Dodge every turn, ranged help cunning action (bonus action) every turn while sanctuary is up. I guess you could go 14dex leaving more space for con and using med armor.
The game where I introduced this character we had "power gamer" bard who challenged everyone in the group of new players to some sort of competition, self-declared leader, and all that jazz. He challenged me to a skill test in performance after I started juggling and "mimicking" jokes my character had heard. He rolled poorly while playing the lute, I rolled well, and so while juggling and doing acrobatics I had my character "mimic" the song he played on his lute. Although I never got to put it to test, I had totally planned on using the disguise kit to fool everyone we came across but it would still be the trope of "this is obviously a giant bird with a fake mustache and bowler hat and how does nobody see this."
Aarakocra Swashbuckler makes for what is essentially a flyby attack rogue. Very thematic with a bird of prey, catch somebody alone and bam sneak attack and fly away. Swashbuckler grants you free disengage from an enemy you have attacked, and sneak attack from catching someone alone (even without advantage).
I am the terror that FLAPS IN THE NIGHT!

Plenty of ways to play with this.

Tabaxi Monk/Rogue, Mobile feat, fastest ever, but only decent at anything else. I think someone built it here: https://youtu.be/2RYlggB9H24
Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!
