Our story begins in the Holy city of Elturel, capital of Elturgard , where the characters find themselves Involved in a meeting between powerful figures such Ulder Ravengard Grand duke of baldur's Gate and lead of The flaming fist, Onthar Frume, Arch-Paladin of the Order of the Gauntlet and Gideon Lightward, High priest of Lathander and guide of the Hellrider knights. each of you owe allegiance or seek favor with one of these factions and through them you will come together to take on a quest, this mission will change your lives as after it you will eventually find yourself drawn to the city of blood: Baldur's Gate trying to find answers to a cataclysmic event.
Delving into the darkest side of the city of blood as you contend with its cuthroat schemes in an attempt at finding the truth, and eventually winding up wandering the first plane of Hell in search for answers and ways to undo a tragedy, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus takes characters on an epic, city-saving journey that goes far beyond the standard romp around Faerun. Literally besieged on all sides, the adventure can be dark and dangerous at times and you can never know when or where it might be safe to find rest...
About The Game --
As you might have noticed from the description of the game, this module is going to pit you against some of the deadliest creatures in the multiverse and in the war-stricken region of Avernus in hell itself, this means that any encounter whether it is combat or social must be handled carefully lest you fall to the wrath of these diabolical denizens. So It's all going to be in the hands of the players on how to handle the difficulties of this epic adventure. sessions will take from 3 to 4 hours All experience levels are welcomed, if you are new to either D&D 5e, Roll20, or RPG's in general I will do my best to teach you the ropes and you don't have to worry about not knowing things, we all been there, as long as you have the want to learn I am sure we can get you on your feet by session 1.
I'm quite knowledgeable in the rules of 5e and can provide smooth sessions without having to flip through the rulebook all the time. Constructive Criticism is always welcomed after sessions, I strive to make the best experience for my players but I will need your help to do so. Jokes and swearing are totally fine however racism, sexism, bigotry, and any other nefarious behaviors towards other players are not allowed at my table, respect all around goes places in keeping the group together and maximizing fun. And finally, this game does have adult themes as hell is a very horrible and dark place so keep that in mind.
Character Creation -- Descent into Avernus is a 1-13 level module, I allow all official Wizard of the Coasts books to be used when making your character as long as it makes sense within the setting, any Unearthed Arcana or homebrew must be approved by me beforehand. Currently only the 2014 version is allowed but in the future we can add elements of the new version. We will be using a more buffed standard array for stats generation that goes like this: 16,15,14,12,10,08.
Characters will be made during session 0, I recommend you have a base idea in your head if you want but try and not build too much on it as we will be doing that during session 0 so everyone can get to know each other and make the characters together, this way hopefully we can have a smooth session 1 with everyone having talked to each other as players and can now roleplay with their characters
About me
Hello, my name is Zakaria, but you will probably call me Zak like the rest of my friends. I'm he/him, 24 years old with a strong love for role-playing, collaborative storytelling, and honestly just having a good time in general. I have been running and playing D&D for close to 7 years and I enjoy it very much. I love meeting folk as part of my work and fostering a friendly environment alongside the table and outside of it, I believe that in order to have fun on the table everyone has to be in a good mindset and I strive to get there. I love engaging with my players and immerse them into the story and the world, and love to see their reactions, for example It always makes me happy to hear my players excitement when a terrifying enemy approaches them, feel the nervousness in their voice when I ask them if they are sure about their next action and the multitude of questions they ask me, which shows that they are interested in the story and very immersed in it. I enjoy setting events up and I'm always proud when the group picks up on it and starts to connect the dots (even if that rarely happens) However, what makes me most happy is when a player says that they really enjoyed the session
