A small introduction to start off with, My name is Charlo (He/him) I'm 28 years old and live in the Netherlands. I have been running games for nearly 12 years now and have taken a lot of time to create a type of gaming experience I really enjoy.
A couple months ago I started my campaign in my homebrew godstricken steampunk world of Tellurian with great excitement. Sadly one of the players fell off due to not feeling that they fit well with how the rest of the group plays the game. As such Im hoping with this post I can find someone who will fit excellent to be the Verso to my act 2 that is about to commence in the campaign.
Here is some basic info about the game itself: System: 5e legacy mostly. But due to the steampunk vibes of the game I do borrow some firearms rules and items from the 2024 edition. Aswell as small amount of homebrew. Date and time: We play weekly every Thursday evening from 19:00 to 22:00 CET. Game type: Its a heavy roleplay game. I don't think I can stress this enough, this game is a lot of talking and discovering through dialogue. In the 16 sessions we played so far only 3 sessions had actual combat. (Mind you there could've been more but I allow the freedom to find ways around combat.) Current sessions and plans: We currently are at session 16, session 17 will be the end of the first act. You will be joining at the start of act 2. I intend to run this game for at least a year so a total of 54 sessions. Meaning there is plenty of time for you.
About the world to get you hyped a little: The game is set in my world of Tellurian, it is a world that has spent its years growing and learning and slowly moving away from the gods it believes in. Heading to a world of technology that will benefit everyone. We find ourselves on the crossroads of faith and advancement, where you, as the party needs to maneuver in what is right and what is wrong. Make your morals and experience the world as it was, and as it is becoming. Airships float around, firearms are introduced to guards and armies, factories are slowly entering cities and people become reliant on technology for agriculture, transport and more. What kind of person will you be in a world like this? What path will you tread down on? And how will your choices impact the world around you?
Now, in gross lines, what your experience will be like: Combat is only done with the purpose to reinforce the story. I dislike it as a way to get experience and fighting and its much more enjoyable if there are stakes at hand, prematurely determined or shown relatively quick in the fight.
This game is very much a roleplay heavy game, I allow my players a lot of freedom to express themselves and do things to develop a narrative made of their own just for me to tie it into the story as a whole. As such its very much a collaborative story telling experience that we go through and what I as the DM come up with is not always how things work out.
As such if you join, your characters choices, actions, relations matter and will be brought up several times during the game.
Lastly, I am running this campaign with only one main story and barely any sidequests. The reason is that the sidequests are, most of the time if not always tied into someone's backstory and therefore also part of the main quest as a whole. Hence, we keep telling a story.
Anyway, if you made it this far reading this all then I simply wish to meet you and hope we can have a talk to figure out if we both are a good fit for one another.
