Hello! I have recently begun rereading the 1st edition Pathfinder Adventure Paths for fun, and I very much want to run some of them. I have also been wanting to run another solo campaign for someone, as that is something I used to do for a friend and they were always the best sessions. So, I am putting myself out there: I would like to run a weekly D&D session for you, and only you. Be the true main character of the adventure in a way you can't in larger groups. Watch as I unravel your backstory, which I will expertly mesh with the prewritten adventure's story (my ability to do this has been praised by players in the past). I will, of course, balance the campaign so that it is not unfairly stacked against you; you will have NPC companions, some encounters will be scaled down, and you will advance in level much faster than a party of four would.
A bit about what to expect from this game: I have read the first twelve APs, and I am interested in running any one of them for you (converted to D&D 5e 2024, of course). Some of them are better than others, but with a little bit of tweaking they should all be fun to play in. Each one has varying levels of roleplay, combat, and exploration. One important thing about this game, whichever campaign is chosen: it will be mostly in the theater of the mind. Dungeon crawls (every AP has at least 1) will have a map to refer to, but combat will not be mapped. I will do my best to bring the combat to life well enough you don't even notice there isn't a visual aid. Important NPCs will also have artwork that I will share with you. We will use Discord for voice and to chat between sessions, with character sheets being here on D&D Beyond. I am a fan of real dice, so I will be rolling real dice, and I encourage you to as well. Honor system and all that.
As the thread's title says, I am looking for something either Friday or Saturday nights. We'd start around 8 PM CDT and go until, well, whenever is good for us. Whichever day we settle on, we will take the last day of the month off (if we begin playing Fridays in August, we'd take the 29th off, for example), just so I don't get burned out.
A bit about me: I'm in my 30s, I use he/they pronouns, and I have been a DM for 15 years. D&D is my main hobby, but I've also been known to read fantasy and horror novels and listen to Broadway musical soundtracks on repeat until I have them memorized. I am also a writer, though I haven't written a non-D&D campaign story for a couple of years now. I consider myself to be a fair DM; I believe in adhering to the rules, but I also recognize the Rule of Cool when it is appropriate to do so.
If you think this is something you'd be interested in, go ahead and PM me and we can begin talking. But for now, here are the Adventure Paths to choose from! Those marked with an asterisk are ones I have run before, but I don't mind running them again. When we talk, feel free to ask for more information to help you make your decision.
1. Rise of the Runelords* 2. Curse of the Crimson Throne* 3. Second Darkness 4. Legacy of Fire* 5. Council of Thieves 6. Kingmaker* 7. Serpent's Skull 8. Carrion Crown* 9. Jade Regent 10. Skulls & Shackles 11. Shattered Star 12. Reign of Winter*
