Game: D&D 5e - could possibly be talked into the newest addition but we'd be newbies Group preferred: Online - Discord for Voice. Roll20 for Game. Experience: Around 5+ years for all of us Location/Timezone: CST/EST Availability: Wednesday 6:30 Central/7:30 Eastern Preferred role: Players Game style: Group of 5 friends seeking heavy role play to combat (60/40) game on the high seas.
Looking for a free game. Seeking a story driven campaign on the open ocean. Up for heavy exploration and role play, seeking to adventure through an interesting world - homebrew welcome! High fantasy, high magic - floating islands, overgrown ruins, and treasure~! We want it all!
Get to know us: Rhotic/Jam: I love role playing, I love combat, I love dungeon delving, I love teasing puzzles! Honestly I just want the ability to hang out with a group of nerds around my age (Late 20s to 30's) and escape from our worldly troubles, boring jobs, and the distress of being an adult to have a good time fighting monsters, flirting with NPCs/PCs (with consent, of course) and looting ancient forgotten dungeons after slaying a big, ole cube of jelly.
I'm an avid note taker, professional meme-maker and artist ready to bring the good vibes. I do my best to pay attention to details while exploring the world we're in. Big team player, too. I generally play Clerics or Druids as I prefer playing healer types.
JcRockOut/Jeremy: Down for anything. I build my characters around the environment and players. Enjoy Sorcerer the most. I will 100% romance any male character if they are available. Other than that I go with the flow and have good laughs.
Lyingisbad/Riley: Hi! I love a good story fueled by multiple threads of intrigue. Throw me a good mystery or some unanswered questions need answering and I will have a wonderful time! I also enjoy an interactive world I can just lose myself in. Besides that, I’m a very go with the flow type of person. Combat, social situations, secret plots, puzzles, it’s all is wonderful.
I’m a very big believer that everyone should be having fun, DM included. We’re all here to enjoy each others company, and I do my best to help facilitate that.
Character wise, I’ve always had a soft spot for druids and warlocks. I love less conventional casters and using their skills to help solve situations. I’d love to play a Druid, I can already imagine the horticulture horrors that will happen, however I am down to fit any role if necessary!
Lynn: I love just playing RPGs as an escape from reality. It’s fun to have an even mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat. Although I like when different sessions have a focus on different things. Perhaps a bad habit, but I love being able to romance and flirt with NPCs. I also really enjoy looting things, even if it’s for small shiny objects or pretty rocks.
When it comes to classes I have a preference for rogues and warlocks, but am strongly thinking about playing a paladin or cleric. I tend to play a character with a class depending on the setting. I am the resident character repository goblin, I have plenty of characters I wanna try out.
Splitleaf: I like a lot of different things, but the big things I like are roleplaying characters and pulling the threads of story lines put before us. I like to see what the world has and holds and exploring stories and stuff. I really enjoy seeing what a DM has gotten up to and cooked up to bring their world to life.
I like to dig at and uncover secrets in character stories and world story lines and digging through pulling at threads. I enjoy combat a lot too and usually will play whatever will best help round out the party. I am also the voice of reason with these weirdos.
Hopefully with all this information you might think we're the group for you!
Happy adventuring and first round of drinks at the tavern are on me!
You’ve got an amazing group that aligns perfectly with my DM style! I focus on escapism and creating memorable moments that skew hilarious, with the occasional mysterious twist.
I have several years of regular DM experience (and over 20 years of TTRPG experience), currently running multiple games, one of which is set in a homebrew world that fits your desired high seas premise and still has room for huge growth.
I’m happy to run the game with the tools and ruleset you prefer, and I’d be willing to use Session 0 to build characters in both 2014 and 2024 rules to decide as a group which ruleset feels best for the campaign.
My only conflict is the schedule: I am open in the desired time slot on Thursdays and Sundays, not Wednesdays.
If you can make Thursdays or Sundays work, check out the premise:
The Seabreeze’s Ambition Join Captain Cormac aboard the struggling Seabreeze, a ship desperate to live up to the legend of the mighty Ocean’s Champion. You are the founding crew tasked with recovering forgotten secrets to challenge the mainland empires and restore the age of free piracy.
Our aged First Mate, Iskra, holds the key to the legends in her fading memories, making the quest to piece together the past the heart of your adventure.
Why the Seabreeze is for You:
Rhotic/Jam: Plunder long-forgotten overgrown coastal ruins for legendary artifacts, fight colossal sea monsters, and solve the ancient riddles of the deep left by the Ocean's Champion.
JcRockOut/Jeremy: Navigate tense social waters and the high seas, where opportunities for roleplay and romantic intrigue with key NPCs (both friendly and rival) are as abundant as hidden treasure.
Lyingisbad/Riley: Every island and submerged relic hides a secret thread leading to the forgotten truth of the Ocean's Champion; your keen eye for mystery and lore is crucial to healing Iskra's memory and charting the Seabreeze's destiny.
Lynn: Sail a dangerous world filled with rival pirates, wealthy navies, and ancient ruins, offering endless chances for both thrilling naval combat and the sweet reward of looting unique magical trinkets and forgotten gold.
Splitleaf: Directly influence the course of the world by pulling at the threads of history and imperial conspiracy, breathing life into a homebrew setting where your exploration and choices define the next Golden Age of Piracy.
If you’re willing to try Thursday and/or Sunday, let me know! I’m available here or on Discord (same username: bluecrackpot) to discuss the adventure premise, setting lore, character creation, and overall logistics.
Thank you so much for reaching out, sadly Thursday and Sunday will not work as multiple of us already have a game during those times. The world sounds absolutely amazing and I hope you're able to find a good crew!
