(Also it prevents the game from slowing down and helps give us the same info as our characters if you roll your saves and take your reactions as soon as possible instead of waiting until the end of the round. For example, Justine would have known that Dreadwood would have fire resistance by the time it got to her turn, which may have changed her action.)
(Not necessarily sure if this per se would be better than a third channel for things like this, but... in response to the OOC chatter in the arena)
(@Futuristic_kf: I did take it as soon as possible. I cannot be online 24/7 any more than EliteHatter or anyone else. In an idealistic world, yes. But unless we were to do away with all reaction type things, I just don't see it happening. Also, I could see your argument in a better light in regards to someone using something like shield or fireball against an already proc'ed absorb elements, but... he did something that -- regardless of damage resisted the first turn -- would have an ongoing consequences. Because now Dread has 2 people that need to lose concentration to get out of it. Nevermind the damage was low this time, and you're asking for a potential re-roll of another source damage to avoid the consequences of it.)
(Now, if it was illegal in the first place to target the same object with a same spell(assuming the full armor doesn't count as one object for the purpose the spell anyways), then sure. You'd get no sass for me. But as it stands... feels kinda shady.)
(@Random: It's a 2 foot high wall and he isn't a small race. At most, he could've gained a cover bonus against, but it can technically be angled or loosed in such a way as to still hit, I would think.)

"As of now I have no solid answers. I do know it takes great power to call a calamity like that down. Short of an act of outright Divinity not many creatures are powerful enough to bring that much destruction to bare. Even more concerning was a lack of any presence. No invasion, looting, kidnappings, there was just destruction and then silence.. Lack of motive is ironically a blessing, but also a great hindrance." Eider looks Hammond over and nods "We'll do what we can to prepare for something like this again. I will not allow such powers to ruin the lives of those who cannot protect themselves."

Harmond nods. "Right. So do you still need a hunter or a bartender or should I just go and look for greener pastures?"
"Any person of skill is useful. We need both bartender and Hunters. Its a bit bare bones around her as far as staff is concerned. I'd planned on having a few old contenders in the arena help as instructors or mentors. Now though... its just me and the bouncer."
Behind the bar, stone greataxe leaning against the wall behind him stands a Tabaxi. Scarred face, a near permanent snarl, and absolutely messing every drink order up stands Obsidian Field. Clearly not meant for this type of life.
Wit a tired sigh Eider turns to Hammond "People need a sense of order, You know?"
(OOC my brother had no interest in coming back and told me to retire him. Figured he'd make a good Bouncer NPC at least.)

Harmond slings his musket around his back and says, "Alright then. As long as I get paid, I can reprise my role as bartender and hunter." He then hops back over the bartender's desk and gets back to work but not before pouring himself and mug of Elvish ale.
Now free from his bar tending duties Ob grabs his weapon and heads for the door. "We're going to need to hunt for food if people keep coming here. I don't mind the sport of it. But to you may need to sponsor a hunt or two to keep the cellars full."
Thinking on this Eider brings out a quill and paper. If folks wants to come here to learn how best to defend themselves, then maybe he can capitalize on those very same skills.
(After the level 3 fight, but before the level 4) That evening folks in the Glory's Acknowledgement(fightmeBdaddLy) see an Expedition board with two posting on it:
Posting 1: Hello all weathered and weary travelers. I thank you for your interest in our humble academy and welcome you to stay and learn all you can!
This though comes at a cost, as many things do, and that is sustainability. I know not what arrangement former owners had for stocking provisions. But since the calamity I doubt those deals or routes still stand. With this in mind I would ask that any who're brave enough venture out into the surrounding wilderness and hunt whatever provisions they can find. Coin will be paid for any donated to the Academy. Or you may keep your spoils for yourself.
The going rates are as follows: Small creatures will trade for 10 gp Medium creatures will trade for 40 gp Large creatures will trade for 120 gp Berries, Roots, and other Medicinal Herbs will trade for 25 gp a pound
It is not advised to go beyond any beast larger than an average beast of burden as such creatures are normally more of a hassle than they'll be worth.
Posting 2: This being a School we offer much more than trial by combat. As of now we are terribly short handed, but we aspire to grow and become a beacon of knowledge and bastion of safety for any on these grounds.
In that spirit if you find yourself tired of the traveled road feel free to become a professor here, teach on any subject you wish. Arcane, Cultural, Histories, Religions of far off lands, any and all knowledge is welcome here and encouraged to be shared.
(OOC these are to give characters something to do while not fighting, encourage role play and given a chance to show off more than attacks and spells. Do with them what you will. Just thought I'd offer a variance besides a solely combat focused forum.)
(Also, if someone wants to start up the betting thing again feel free to PM me, I'm good with numbers and willing to keep track of W/L for odds.... I just don't know how betting actually works. XD)
(BIG POINT OF INTEREST! NONE OF THIS AWARDS EXP, IT IS SOLELY FOR RP AND GP. WHILE THERE WILL BE ROLLS AND EVEN POSSIBLE FIGHTS, NO RESOURCES USED WILL CARRY OVER TO THE ARENA AND CONVERSELY, NO OUTSIDE EDGE WILL BE GRANTED. THIS IS JUST FOR RP TO BREAK UP MONOTONY.)
(Ehhh been on the road working shows then boom my whole industry shuts down.so yay pandemic. Lol. Learned how to use online stuff threw my phone now.so that's helpful. Lol.
I did name the bar... but seems like this is a second bar since "the glory of the Coliseum" was shattered to bits when the coliseum got destroyed.🤷♂️ )

In the meantime, let’s let these RPers get back to the action, eh?)

Turning his attention away fromt he bar, he looks upon the scrying mirrors towards the current match. "There's a lot of new talent here as well."
