Zensiro can take the lead, unless anyone else is feeling bold. He will proceed cautiously and observantly, as usual, with his cloak up. In particular, he will take care to avoid touching the side webbing.
"Truth be told, I've had more than a few occasions where I've needed to tie a normal size coin with a fine thread so I do have some knowledge" he tells you, his usual grin widening
(Will the group be carrying their oversized treasures with them, or temporarily leaving them behind?)
As you progress forward into the tunnel, you gradually become aware of a humming sound. It begins just at the low end of your perception, but gradually builds to a noticeable thrum. You believe it is emanating from some of the fibrous strands of webbing.
Ahead of you, you become aware of an obstruction in the tunnel. A barrier has been erected of twigs and leaves and webbing that bisects the tunnel. It does not seem to be attached on all sides, but rather designed to swing forward (toward the party) and upward like a giant vertical trap-door. The vibrating strands continue around the sealed tunnel and disappear into the darkness on the other side, still creating that annoying sound.

Zensiro chuckles quietly at the suggestion and replies, "Certainly a good solution to a lot of problems, Dyumi, but let's consider other options for a moment. I've seen spiders that create trapdoors like this on the Moonshaes where I grew up, but from this perspective it's hard to know if we're looking at the same thing. And that hum is disconcerting; it's as though there is something alive, but trapped in the web beyond this door. Let me take a closer look. Either way, I think we should leave the items here for the moment if we proceed past the trapdoor."
Nature19 (trying to gain more information about what created the trapdoor and the source of the vibrations in the webbing)
“If fire is the best approach I’m ready. But remember I’m one of the causes of a rather large forest fire when we were on wilderness patrol. Fire can quickly get out of hand..” Cerlinde says, as she looks anxiously at the web lined tunnel.
Zensiro has seen and heard of "trap-door" spiders before, although those were always relatively much smaller than he. This seems to be the usual sort of barrier erected by such arachnids, although on a grander scale.
The humming vibrations remind him of buzzing flies. Sort-of.

"I can always light things on fire, but as Cerlinde said, we might want to make sure it wont get out of hand first. From what I can tell it will light the door, and some webs on our side. We probably wont get burned ourselves, but whatever is buzzing will cook and the spiders will definitely notice us. We could also lift the door with mage hand, I would say" Zithers says.
"Now does seem like a good place to rest, before we enter the "boss dungeon" of sorts. Then again, that's only my preference, what with the possibility of gaining spell slots and fashioning a dark shard amulet from this red crystal."
(other than buzzing, does Zithers detect any other unusual noises pertaining as to what else is behind the door? Perception 3)
Zensiro completes his examination of the trap-door, evidently satisfied with what he has found. "Yes, I think it does look like the work of a trap-door spider. They're likely quite terrifying at this size, but fortunately, their poison is not among the worst. I'd venture that whatever lurks behind this door is occupied with a recently captured meal. Whether that gives us an opportunity to surprise them or to get away from here without a conflict is up to us. If we rest, we may be safe here, but that spider will return to the door when its hunger returns. It's hard to say when that might occur. Anyone else have thoughts on whether we torch them and head in, rest first, or ... ?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Malichi looks over the webbing leading up to the trap door and the door itself then fishes around in his backpack "Always go with the classic. This string should blend in with the webbing all around, but tie it up so the door won't open easily and not without disturbing everything around it, including this small bell" he ties it up using some tools he has to secure everything to the webbing all around and the bell
(So do I understand correctly that the plan is to rig the trapdoor to ring a bell when it opens, meanwhile the party will take a short rest where they are, outside it?>)

Nope. Must have wax in his ears.

(Yeah)
During the short rest, Zithers would like to craft a dark shard amulet from the red elemental crystal found earlier.
