The Ice Spider dropping rapidly towards Zensiro screams as his arrow finds its mark. In retaliation, it hurls icy-cold webbing at the ranger (9), before being fried by the chromatic orb from Cerlinde. Two of the smaller spiders leap at the wizard in retaliation. (8, 8)
The Spider Queen at first seemed content to observe the battle from her safe position, but when Malichi's attack wounds her, she races along the maze of silk toward the party, and casts her own sticky net at the tiefling (21)
Zithers' eldritch blast misses the mark as he is attacked by two wolf spiders (22, 22).
Amelia finds herself besieged by two of the smaller spiders as well, (6, 11).
Dyumi is swarmed by two of them, (11, 11), but his subsequent guiding bolt and starry archer attack both severely wound the two-headed queen.
Malichi is also targeted by the two wolf spiders that had sealed the trap door (6, 12),
"Oh blast it! I swear I've been cursed! I've barely hit anything this entire time!" Zithers complains as his favorite cloak and favorite arm both get torn through by spiders. He points at the first one to attack him as a reaction, casting hellish rebuke at the spider, (hopefully) engulfing it in flames.
He then will use his action to thwack this same spider with his quarterstaff. (using both hands to pack more of a punch)
(hellish rebuke DEX SAVE DC: 14, damage 12 fire damage; half as much on a successful save.
Zensiro is torn as he sees Zithers and Malichi under duress, but also recognizes the major threat posed by the monstrous queen. Electing to continue to attempt to take out the leader and shatter the followers' morale, Zensiro shifts his deadly focus to the queen and looses an arrow from his bow, invoking the Earthmother's guiding hand once again.
Bonus Action - redirect Hunter's Mark to Queen Spider
Longbow - attack: 9 vs. Queen Spider, damage (piercing): 9 w/Hunter's Mark
(Well that was some bloody miserable rolling! Sorry, team, it seemed a lot more epic when I was writing it then it does after those rolls!)
Cerlinde uses misty step to escape the small spiders, getting as far from them as she can while still being able to see the queen and then shoots a fire bolt..26 to hit

Malichi:

Zithers:

Zithers is not having a great time combat wise so far, but hopefully a second strike from his quarterstaff will finish the spider off. (attack: 6 damage: 1)

Round 2
Seeing the tiefling temporarily neutralized, the queen will turn her attention to the foe that keeps spouting fire. As she approaches the wizard, however, Cerlinde blinks away out of her reach, stinging her with another bolt of flame. Frustrated, she attacks Zensiro instead. The ranger pivots to attack but his arrow sails wide of the target, lodging in the opposite wall.
Queen Attack: 22 Damage: 7piercing + DC 11 CON save else 12poisondamage.
The smaller arachnids that had been attacking Cerlinde are confused by her disappearance and turn in anger to the others,
one to Dyumi (S1 Attack: 10 Damage: 4piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 5poison
and one to Zensiro (S2 Attack: 7 Damage: 6piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 9poison)
One spider, S3 was severely burned by Zithers' rebuke, and then finished off by the quarterstaff strike. Its companion, S4 leaps at the gnome once more, seeking to finish the job. (Attack: 13 Damage: 2piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 6poison)
Amelia continues her standoff with her assailants, as they circle her, striking when they see an opening. (S5 Attack: 21 Damage: 2piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 2poison)
(S6 Attack: 20 Damage: 6piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 8poison)
The spiders that attacked Dyumi the previous round continue their assault, seeking to nullify the starry archer.
(S7 Attack: 12 Damage: 6piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 10poison)
(S8 Attack: 17 Damage: 5piercing + DC 11 CON Save else 8poison)
and while Malichi the tiefling struggles in vain to free himself, his opponents attack with advantage.

Fortunate to have dodged the various attacks flying at him, Zensiro shares Cerlinde's sense of desperation. He fires once again at the Queen with his longbow. No prayers, no thoughts, just grit and focus.
Longbow - attack: 18 vs. Queen Spider, damage (piercing): 13 w/Hunter's Mark
Turn 3: Dyumi's bow dissappears from his hands, and a constellation of a chalice forms on his forehead. From the cup, blue mist pours forth, surrounding both himself and Zithers.
Dyumi: heal 12
Zithers: (I think still paralized), but up with 9 HP
(it flagged it as I rolled my CON save before typing the rest of the turn incase I died. All rolls should be untouched, but I'll reroll them if you want)

The queen is further wounded by Dyumi's arrow, and Zensiro's round 3 attack finishes her off, causing a blood-curdling shriek to reverberate around the cavern.
The remaining spiders look at her corpse, look at you, and look at each other. Then they grab the paralyzed bodies of Amelia, Zithers and Malichi, quickly wrap them in silk and scurry up into the web bearing their trophies. They are all 30 feet above you in the maze of seemingly random ropes. It seems likely that if you kill one of the spiders while it is carrying your friend, he or she will fall many feet to the floor.
Your opponents are all fleeing at the moment. Climbing sticky web ropes will be at one-quarter your walking speed, and attacks while climbing will be at disadvantage if hands are required to complete them. (Well, I suppose if you just need one hand, that would be normal, but the other can only be occupied with hanging on).
Zithers cannot do anything at the moment, so he will mentally cheer the others on.
(So, I know that Zithers cannot speak from paralysis, I'm guessing this means I cannot remind the players of anything or can I point out something i just remembered to the non-paralyzed party?)
“What eats spiders? I know… birds! “. She says to herself, thinking desperately.
Cerlinde starts climbing up after the spiders, and then pauses and uses minor illusion to make a very loud sound of birds chirping and digging, appearing to come from above the spiders. (She hopes to scare them back down to the ground)
Zensiro offers the following, "Great thinking, Cerlinde! I fear that if I use my bow, a spider might drop our friend that it's carrying. I can use my fey step to close the distance to one of those spiders, but once up there I likely will only be able to make one attack before they can outpace me and escape. Or is that far too dangerous? I might be able to free one of our party and try for the others. While I'm up there I might also be able to free the butterfly and snail and inspect those glimmering items."
Zithers cannot do anything at the moment, so he will mentally cheer the others on.

I'm OK with some OOC discussion of tactics, and reminding others of what has been learned previously. You just shouldn't introduce any new information that the other characters wouldn't have had access to previously. Also, you could probably cast a spell if it didn't require any verbal, somatic or material components. I'll even generously grant the paralyzed characters the ability to breathe (and thus to hold your breath), and the free movement of your eyelids ("blink once for 'yes'....) :)
The fleeing spiders can only flee so far, as the chamber has no other obvious exits. After securing their bundles to several sites around the web, they seem unsure what to do next, although a few are drifting closer to the former queen's central place of power, as though mulling over claiming the royal mantle for themselves. When the auditory avian minor illusion begins, there is general pandemonium, spiders racing back and forth, not sure exactly whence the source of the terrifying tweets. Four of the remaining arachnids decide that as bad as you are, you're not nearly as dangerous as a hungry bird, and they scurry back down to ground level. (Inspiration pointto Cerlinde).
Congrats! You're back in combat! What would you like to do now?

After a moment, a slight smile crosses his lips and he adds, "Or, if we could figure out how to bind a spider, we could negotiate a hostage exchange."He draws his bow again, turns his full attention to the furthest of the approaching spiders, then unleashes another arrow.
