"Hey, take a look at this crew. Lets look for traps first, then see what's in these crates." Sparhawk will look for signs of an ambush or traps (Perception?: 22
Sparhawk can see signs that an ambush took place and was successfully carried out. There are two sets of remains nearby, with little in the way of flesh left on the bones. Seems a few days old. There are no signs of traps
Lir is proficient in boats so he's going to see if he can repair it - ability check?
Lir determines the boat could be repaired with some tar and some planks of wood or animal hide to cover the hole in the hull. Would take about an hours work once the materials are acquired.
Eberk collects the various pieces of crate and pulls apart the separate boards. “Maybe this will work.” He places them near the hole on the boat and casts Mending.
"Not to bring up a sensitive subject, but when you were stuck on the wizard tower and getting accosted by seagulls, that is one of two tortures I would not wish on most enemies." He smiles, remembering Bjorns uncomfortable predicament on the wizards tower. "When we slogged through the mud and had it all over, that is what tar feels like."
"Being tarred and feathered is extremely humiliating. But for boats, roofs, waterproofing, that's another matter."
a knife made from obsidian, a corked bamboo tube containing 4 emeralds ( approx 50gp value each), a strange wooden mask with 9 small gems embedded at strange intervals along the design work. Lots of rotten provisions and a bottle of some kind of wine.

( good call)
everyone watches as the boards from the crates meld to the boat planks, making a virtually unidentifiable repair to the row boat. You now have a faster mode of transport.
"Nice work Lir and Eberk. If this map is right, I believe we can travel by boat faster than by foot down river. If we are lucky, it will take us to Mezro and Port Castigliar. Then we can evaluate the fastest way to get to Port Nyanzaru."
"By the way, I haven't said this in a while, but if I was stuck in an underwater aquarium drowning, facing a multi eyed mouth chaos creature, being eaten by a giant lizard, or stuck in the mud while fireballs fall from the sky, I could think of no better company than all of you my friends. I appreciate you all. We have been through a lot together."
The paladin looks at the state of his armor and weapons. "Oh how I look forward to a tavern, some hot food, and getting cleaned up. Drinks on me at that first tavern."
As they start their journey on the boat, Sparhawk pulls out the map of Chult.
"Bjorn, anyone else interested, take a look at this map." He unrolls it.
"I think we are here. So depending on travel, we should get to this port fairly quickly."
(also, to get paid, we will need to justify to Dietrich that we actually did recon, so we need a list of creatures, stuff that we have discovered along the way, anyone wanna put that together?)

You are able to get underway and make good progress for the last leg of the days/ nights journey getting to where the jungle meets on both sides of the river. The current is mild and the river seems deep, at least at this section . On the left bank there is a sign posted will a skull impaled on top. Sparhawk’s stomach feels a bit unsettled as you draw a bit nearer to read it. You notice the skull is looking around, turning to the left and right, it’s jaws moving as if to try and bite you. The sign says:
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Odd number, left, even number right....also Sparhawk will close his eyes on landing on shore and release Divine Sense) to see if he feels any real undead presence.
"Alright crew, lets set up (right or left 4) here for some rest."

"Ooh, our luck continues. Wonder what they have here." Bjorn volunteers to use Invisibility to approach the wreck.

( have to investigate in order to search the crates)
"Skin some animals. Cook up some tar, chop wood - we could make a trip down the river."
Lir does not care about the stripped corpses.
“It may be a quicker way to travel”
Sparhawk looks around.
“anything in the crates?”

Frangipani watches the others with interest.

Bjorn watches the industrious party in amazement, having no idea how to help. "Is that what tar is? A type of food?"

(Sorry about that, I think it should be map on 3/22/23 for PCs, please disregard the question to Bjorn regarding the x, we don't see that)
