Will everyone stop calling him "The Demogorgon"? It's his name, not a title!

(Can we hear Saralynn? Or is that a perception7. If so...)
Rain turns to look at Saralynn and says, "I think that you missed my introduction earlier Little Reed o' the Blue Wisps. You may call me Rain." He walks close to her as he says that.
Rain extends his right hand, palm up and hold her gaze as he says, "I am *ready* ... to learn your name, if you will share it."
You hear what sounds like a horn outside, loud and clear. There is much yelling outside. You see some villagers grabbing weapons, some resorting to tree branches and garden tools. You see a few areas fire outside. A knight comes enters the castle loudly, but is shot down before he can say a word. 2 goblins with long spears enter the castle.
"We demand you give us your kingdom's riches. Do you yield?"

Put your spoiler here.
A few notes from a brand new play-by-post party member. Since we're only posting once per day or so, we're going to lose a lot of time if we have to ask for clarification. When you're describing the next new thing that's happening like this, or maybe when you make your last post for the day, I'd suggest just summarizing from the DM's perspective the status and location of each party member. For ex., the whole party is now in the dining hall with the king. Right now, it's unclear to me whether the party is in the throne room or the grand dining hall. The last explicit description of change of location was
> He went back into the throne room.
Then there was talk about dinner, but you never said that we all went into the dining room.
I'm also not sure from the description and map
Does this building have any windows to the outside? You said that we saw fires outside, so I'm guessing that it must, but you never mentioned any.
Does the map above show the building's whole footprint, or is that just a portion of a larger palace or castle? That is, does the throne room open directly to the outside? If there's a window at the "top" side of the dining hall, would I be outside if I jumped through it.
How tall is the building? There are stairs, so I guess it's at least 20' tall. Are we currently on the ground floor, so I could step through a window to the ground outside? Or is the throne room level already 1 or more stories off the ground?
If things are starting to happen, you'll need to give us a 5' square grid of the space or at least describe the dimensions of these rooms. If we suddenly end up in a fight, that sort of detail will matter a lot.
We started the adventure in a throne room, but you didn't describe how we got there. Is this building one of many in a walled fortress? Or is it just a building on a street next to other buildings?
I see that this is a "things start moving very quickly" kind of adventure, which I'd probably enjoy in a face-to-face session. In PbP, it's a little disorienting since the only character introductions so far have been Liara and Rain, so we don't even know Olin, Tokka', or Saralynn's names, yet. And it's hard to react to a quickly-changing situation when the current positioning and geography are unclear. If we're in the dining hall, is ther one big table? Are we on the throne room side of the table or the far side of the table? Is the group all standing together or spread out in some way?
You don't have to respond to all of that or answer all of those questions. If we're just supposed to be "along for the ride" at the start here, that's fine. It's just hard to feel like we have a lot of agency when things are happening, but there are so many unknowns.
End of feedback for KingOrc.)
(The knight was shot down from outside (arrows in his back?) or from inside? If inside, who shot him down? AFAIK, we're alone in the room with the king and maybe Marian, the cook.)
Rain draws both of his scimitars. Goblins are one of his favored enemies, having long been a menace to the merchants and villages in and around the desert. Does he recall anything about orcs working with the Pearl of the Desert? That is, could these be guards or allies of the town, or would they definitely be foes? Some sort of INT check with advantage? 6.
If Rain knows that the goblins are definitely enemies of the kingdom, and we are all in the throne room, move forward and attack with scimitars while calling out, "Turtle, with me. Liara, get the king to his personal room."
If Rain knows that the goblins are definitely enemies of the kingdom, and we are all in the dining room, he grabs the king's arm and tries to move to Kitchen A with him. "Quickly! Everyone, back to the supply room. Turtle cover our retreat."
Otherwise, Rain asks harshly, "King! What is going on here?" Ready action: if the king tries to run, grapple him. If the goblins move to attack me or anyone in the room, react by attacking them with a scimitar.

To be clear, I meant to ask whether it's an INT check. Rain definitely has advantage and INT checks to recall info about his favored enemies.
Roll stats for everyone and gets stuff ready, which could take a bit but then we're good for future combat.
A quicker way is just to make this pure role-playing, without stats or rolling, just say what you doing.
Or something else if you have ideas
(Oh. I assumed that we'd be using the D&DB tools and crunchy numbers. Which could be slow, but I've never done a pure role-play. I mean, I'm fine if someone else wants to do all of the die-rolling for one round of combat since it's using the die roller anyway, but I assumed that those rolls would be based off of actual stats.
I thought that everyone had already created their characters in the recruiting thread, but I thought you'd ask for them when you needed them. This is Rain: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/92964855)

(Ha! I guess *someone* had to balance out all of the good rolls! 😹)
(I'm catching up. This is from earlier.)
Rain frowns, his brow fur scrunches up, and he shakes his head.
He looks to Olin and tilts his head to the side.
(OOC:
> In either case, once introductions are done and after trying to listen at the doorway to the right for a minute, if there's still time...
It's not clear to me whether Rain had a chance to do that. Is he still in his robe, or has he changed and geared back up already?
Did he get a chance to look at the map before the "king" came back out?)

You can hear her.
By the way, since you rolled a 20 on perception when trying to hear, click on the box below:
While listening, you hear ominous chatter outside. Clanging of medal. Sounds like a large group, but they are trying to stay quiet.

Tokka looks to the goblins and then to the King, he then points to the goblins "Are we hunting them?"
The king glares viciously at the goglin. "They are my enemies. Hunt them."
One of the goblins blows a horn, and 3 more enter the room.
One goblin has 4 health, and hits Tokka with 2 bludgeoning damage.
