(OOC: Daisy will go down as well. Is there anywhere to secure a rope near the hole - a nearby tree or large rock?)
Daisy surveys the area while the others descend, finding a couple of handfuls of small stones and depositing them in a pocket.
"Well, no sense in hanging out here in the cold." The dwarf slips the coil of rope from her pack and looks for something to secure it to to make the descent easier.
Yes, quite easy to find a trunk nearby, you (and everybody else) can thus roll with advantage to descend.
Ardana whispers: " We do not know how the sound travels to the archway area, we should speak softly and only in whispers as we travel the tunnel westward."
Daisy quickly ties the rope off on a nearby tree. Grasping the rope, she begins her descent. "Uh, oh!" she hisses as she soon finds her grip slipping.
(OOC: Athletics 8 w/ adv, to descend... Apparently she has been relying on Mold Earth too much around the farm and has lost a bit of her strength. LOL!)
The dwarf, ins spite of the help of the rope, finds herself slipping continuously, always forced to hold on tightly to the rope, wiggling her legs in the air, before finding a new footing... and slipping a few moments later.
Exhausted by various attempts, the druid catches her breath for a few moments. After all, the elf didn't look very athletic, but she descended with the grace of a spider even without a rope... Maybe her trick is to try to stay as calm as possible...
(OOC: the climb roll was failed, but not a fallire so big to result in a fall. Another attempt can be made - with another roll, still with advantage, of course, for the rope is still there)
Daisy manages to regain control of her descent, sticking her legs out in an L position to push off against the wall of the hole. She comes to a rest at the bottom of the hole with a splat to her backside.
"Well, that wasn't the prettiest, but got the job done," she whispers to no one in particular with a sheepish grin.
Meanwhile, one at a time, our heroes arrive at the bottom of the hole, Tarysaa begins the exploration, staying ahead, so that the others cannot give her away with their eventual noises.
The tunnel proceeds almost always in the general direction of the 'beatiful den', for at least 200'. After that, the passage turns sharply to the right and, after only another 30', to the left again.
After this last sharp turn, the passage ends after 10'.
Since most of the party is behind, for now only tarysaa can see what is here, in the 10' zone after the last sharp turn.
For Tarysaa
This 10' zone has some large collapsed blocks on the ground, under which fragments of the chitinous exoskeleton of a gigantic insectoid can be seen.
The blocks must have fallen from above, because the ceiling of the natural tunnel is not there in these 10' - it must have collapsed on the insectoid together with the blocks, leaving empty space.
So, the only way forward would seem... by climbing up.
But as soon as she looks up, the elf notices that above, about 20' higher, there is the stretch of wall from which the blocks have fallen... leaving a hole. And, half-hidden by the wall, she can see a piece of head with hair ... There's someone standing there!
Tarysaa is so surprised that she unintentionally kicks a loose stone, making a small noise. As the elf hides, she hears two voices speaking in common: “I thought I heard something...” and she sees her first head, the one she saw earlier, lean out of the hole in the wall to look down. She looks like a human's head – and indeed she can't seem to see anything in the darkness. "What? Who do you want to come from there? Is it just a paranoia of that idiot Flick, to think it could happen! Has anyone ever come, in these months?" "Yes, you're right... you can't see any light..." "Indeed! What did you rather tell me? What did you do to the one who owed you 4 copper pieces?" Then the head withdraws from the hole, resuming its position just outside of it.
(OOC: When you move again, try a new stealth check)

Tarysaa slowly back crawled down the blocks and rubble and crept back the 10 feet to the first 'corner'. Taking a moment to listen for any reaction from the den 'hole'
(Combat log: PERCEPTION check: 3 +3 = 6) <insert whispered elven curse words...> She continued moving slowly back down the tunnel to her companions. If nothing happens, she will whisper an account of what has been discovered at the 'end of the insect tunnel' >>>

"I practically ran into a two person 'guard' at the hole. Seems like someone named Flick? is the nervous type and has had guards posted there 'for months.'
I ALMOST tried to use a couple of cantrip 'tricks' that MIGHT have caused some minor issue for the two but I would have had to get within 10 feet of them... and it is almost a 20 ft UPWARD climb to get to that hole into the den. We are going to need a ladder or moving stone blocks around to make it easier to get UP that 20 feet."
Ardana whispers "This entrance seems guarded, does anyone have any abilities that would enable us to take out the two guards from the bottom of the shaft quickly without raising a broader alarm?"

No problems in going back undetected and reporting (you can't hear more of the conversation of the sentinels though).
So... Tarysaa came back and reported to the party as per her post - the secondary entrance requires climbing plus has two sentinels guarding (somehow).
Ardana asked if anyone had any skills that would allow the group to quickly clear the two guards from the bottom of the shaft without raising a larger alarm.

(OOC: Considering that Furujiru hasn't posted for at least 3 days and that he has a spell that maybe could be useful to you, as an exception I'll have Tyrgram reply)
"I know a spell that could make them fall asleep..." Tygram suggests to Ardana "But we have a small problem: I can't see in the dark. And no, it's not that I have to wear glasses, I don't need them! It's just that we humans can't see in total darkness".
"My few cantrips or spells, I need to SEE them first. I mean, I can see in the dark but... I can't see through walls or stone," Tarysaa frowned. "We could light a torch BUT, anyone looking at the wall hole will SEE light and know something is happening. What ever we do, it is going to get noisey."
"Sleep or Darkness. Some kind of compel or control... wait, those are beyond beginners,"she said as she paced from tunnel side to side. "Too bad none of us can fly up to the hole..."
“I might be strong enough to climb up the side, especially if it ends up being small enough that I can push against the walls.

"I might have something for moving some of the ground around to give us a boost," Daisy offers. "But maybe we could lure one or both of them down here. I could dig a pit between those two turns in the path... Someone make some sort of noise that they'd be curious to check out. You know, nothing to dangerous sounding." She pauses and looks between the others. "Anyone have some sort of magic that would make the ground over a hole look normal?"

Ardana descends (Athletics 23, in the log), didn't even need the advantage.
The armored tiefling descend as easily as she was just walking down the hole. She is ready in no time.

You can roll with advantage, thank's to Daisy's rope, so roll again. Third time's a charm, you know...
