As soon as D.O.R.K laid eyes upon the man's symbol, her gaze stayed affixed upon it as if it were her hold world. Visibly shaken from her thoughts at the 'Sarge', the construct again snapped into a formal salute. "Understood. This operative will be sure return with others assigned to the mission."D.O.R.K then spun on a heel, readying to take her leave. "... One last thing." She stops and glances back to the Corporal. "Inquiry: Might this one.... Might I know your name, fellow operative?"

"Inquiry: Might this one.... Might I know your name, fellow operative?"
Happy to be recognised by somebody as senior in the Red Knight's service as D.O.R.K. the guard slams his fist against his chest, stands at attention and says "Frederick Potgeiter, first Corporral, Yartar Town Guard, Afternoon/Evening Shift!"
Though unable to smile, D.O.R.K makes the motion of drawing one with a finger, and then gave one final curt nod in thanks. "Until tomorrow then. May your watch remain uneventful, but your soul no less prepared for the wars to come." She takes her leave on that point, moving along now moreso at a upbeat step. One that carries her well on back to the camp, in which she finally informs the others of the situation; both with Lukian and the guards.
"I am uncertain if this would be construed as unnecessary. But I apologize, Aco-.... Devin. Ally... Devin. I understand that you would wish to be off without far sooner. And that my request of a meeting runs potentially counterpoint to that desire. Yet, I cannot bring myself to rush ahead so blithely this time around."

Devin listens quietly as D makes her argument for staying.
"Yes, you are right, this city was not our goal and I feel we should move on. However we are compatriots and if you feel it is necessary that we stay then I will support you. I offer my full support in your efforts."
DORK just stands there staring at Devin for a long moment before finally raising a pointer finger skyward at her side and saying, "I... must confess that I was expecting greater resistance. While ultimately the counter arguments I had prepared were just above satisfactory, I did not, for once, relish the idea of confrontation." She lowers her gaze downward for a brief time. "... I will need time to process this. Good night, Devin."With that, if there's nothing more to add, she will help tend to Golemgote alongside Vark, treating the young elephant to some bland but filling feed for the evening.
(OOC: Sorry just noticed that my response to Lukian doesn't seem to have saved.)
Lukian takes a moment to look around him as he waits for the child's parents to exit the building.
As Lukian looks around the houses he realises that he is in a party of the city where people obviously take care of their houses. Generally they are well finished and looked after. He does not notice anything that raises any alarm bells as people are closing up shops, talking to neighbours, starting to prepare dinner etc.
Not long after Pert darts into the house he reappears dragging a older but well-dressed halfling after him "Pa Pa this is the man that says he can help us find Grandpa". The halfing turns to Lukian "greetings my lord, I am Gallus a wood carver and turner. Pert here has been going to the gate to look for his grandfather for the last two days now. Anything you might know about him would be much appreciated."
With his right hand, Lukian delicately touches his right ear, the corner of his right eye, and then rests the same hand over his heart as he smiles at the halfling, saying, "Greetings to you as well, Gallus. My fellow travelers and I just came in from the road where we did witness orcs preparing an ambush, but we were able to avoid them. It is possible Pert's grandfather was not as fortunate. From which direction would he be traveling?"
For that matter, DM, please remind me which direction we were coming from.

Devin grins up at D, "Well sorry to disappoint ya, I'll try harder next time. But like I said, we are in this together. I know you wanted to handle other things in the past but we pushed past them. Maybe I was wrong back then, and I'm willing to follow your instincts. I'll follow your lead, I trust ya."
From which direction would he be traveling?" Lukian asks
"His farm is to the west of Yartar on the road to Triboar"Gallus responds. He thinks for a minute and says "I'm forgettin my manners. Will you come in for a bit of supper?"

A very much still rattled DORK could only stare at Devin a moment more after such a reply prior to more fitfully setting to work on Golemgote's care. Vark eventually gets the go ahead to take a break early, so he follows Ebon around for the most part and kept oddly staring at the man.

Yes Lukian would have remembered seeing the occasional farms on the road. Most of these would have been on the northern side of the road between it and The Horn Stream. The Desarin Hills to the south were a little more wild in nature.

Thanks!

Just posting a note saying it's my fault for the lull. Lukian and the halflings are having a conversation in PM.
Does anybody else want to do or say something?
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Conversation over, so Lukian's ready for the next day.
(@All: I'm good to move on the next day as well)
