As Ebonitus checks the crewmen he looks up at Illezenya who (DC 15 [Int] = 5) is wrestling with the helm and shakes his head. As Illezenya gets the airship under control Mullo lands on the deck.
Secret DM Roll = 97
The airship is approaching a large mound which is standing above a small plain (see map)
D.O.R.K had immediately raced to the same side of the ship the dragon had dipped away from and would watch their retreat for however long they stayed in visual range. Even after they are long gone by all appearances, neither her spell or vigilance would wane for several minutes. Not by much, at the very least.
"Three had fallen on the deck. The rest I presume are yet below."She explained. "Devin, if you would be so kind, can you alert them. Hopefully that hatch was not locked, as it may make things needlessly awkward. Exceedingly so, as I think we are coming close to our destination."
Ilezenya lands the airship near the western tip of the mounds - the part that looks like the head of some great dragon bow buried beneath the earth.
Not yet! As Illezenya looks to slow the airship down he realises that the only control on the deck with him is that of the furnance which allows the airship to ascend and descend. As he gives the command to Ebonitis to turn the iron wheel on the starboard side of the furnace to close the valve at the top of the cylinder, thus reducing the size of the fire spilling out of the furnace, and the heat allowing the airship to slowly sink towards the mound he realises the propellor is still spinning at the back of the airship providing forward momentum. He looks around for a control to slow or stop the propellor. Not seeing one he realises he had seen below deck a steel hatch bolted shut from the outside, with a horizontal-sliding iron levers in the adjacent wall labeled Thrust. One of the crew had explained that moving the Thrust lever to the left opens valves that allow wind from the elemental to spin the propeller while moving the lever to the right closes the valves, and the propeller stops turning.
"We need to get below deck and shut down the valve that is making the propeller spin!" Ilezenya calls out to his comrades. "Otherwise we're not going to stop moving forward..."
Devin is also watching the dragon depart and pondering why the one deckhand was seemingly worshiping or bowing to the dragon. He snaps his head up from the command from Ilezenya. "On it!" Devin calls as he races for the hatch to make his way down and operate the propeller.
Ebonitus uses his helm of telepathy to cast Detect Thoughts (Save wis DC13) to search out the crewmen below the deck. When he finds one he will cast Suggestion planting the suggestion that it is safe now and he should unlock and open the hatch. Save Wis DC:13 or perform the action.
Drawn back to matters of the ship after all the shouts, D.O.R.K observes progress on the hatch for a moment or two, half-expecting some requests shouted might reach the ears of those below deck. Yet IF no response is forthcoming, she then takes it upon herself to put two fingers to where an ear might normally be and send to the main speaker of the crew the following: "Be advise. The dragon has departed and we've reached our destination. Please prepare vessel for descent."
Regardless of any necessity to lend her voice, she'd turn to ilzenya, "Until forward momentum can be halted, Warden, do maintain an altitude above any trees or structures if at all possible. As it would be inadvisable to strand ourselves within the apparent domain of that dragon by crashing the ship."
Ilezenya responds, "Yep, got it. We're going to circle the hill until I can safely set this thing down. Unless we can't stop the propeller - then I'll have to get a lot more creative..."

As Ebonitus probes the mind of one of the cultists he finds out ...
What does Ebonitus find out?
His name is Laz and his mind is a rolling maul of tumultous thoughts such as "what should they do now that their captain Delsephine is dead", "do their passengers not understand that dragons are the pinnacle of evolution and not how big or small should always be obeyed!", "you do not drive them away and you certainly do not wound them!"
Ebonitus seeks to influence the cultist whose mind he examined to unbolt the hatch (DC13 [Wis] = 16)
Those who are clustered around the hatch here a discussion below running along the following lines: "Our great lord has commanded we open the hatch!"and then in another voice "how do you know it is him?" To which the first voice replies "only our great lord has the ability to speak directly into my mind as just happened!"(16 vs 13) "well until he commands me to open the hatch, it stays shut!" the second voice responds "are you with me lads"the voice says again. To which there is a chorus of yeahs and other affirmative exclamations.
Ilezenya humphs in exasperation at the stubborn crew. He pulls the rope from his backpack, ties one end securely to the ship (like the mast or the supports for the balloons) and tosses the loose end at the propeller until it wraps around the shaft and causes the propeller to stop spinning and providing forward thrust. The Dusk Warden will steer the airship and lower it as best he can to land near the 'head' of the mound!

Devin bangs on the hatch "Open up, we need to stop!" he looks around exasperated at the situation. If he sees a way to try and open/pick the lock from this side he will try (Thieve's tools 22).
Devin looks around and finds an axe that he could use to smash the hatch open as he thinks it’s not locked so much as being barred or held down from the other side.
Illezenya manages to successfully foul the propellor however whatever powers it continues and the propellor keeps trying to spin. A horrible creaking noise starts to come from the propellor and its shaft.
"I do not know what you all mean by your lord's command. But if your intent is not to further assist us, would that not be agaisnt-..." Is about all D.O.R.K eventually gets out before things start to go pear shape. Having largely been occupied with matters at the hatch, she looked up sharply in surprise at the noise and started hurriedly searching for the source. Her fears of the damage from the dragon having gone deeper prove to be short lived upon spying Ilezenya and trace his gaze to his handiwork. "That -- I do not believe that was very wise, Warden! Cut the rope before it's too late!"

"Not destroying or severely the ship or crippling the ship would be a start!" D.O.R.K curtly called back, and at that point would start to hurry over to the rope. But with little more than a boot knife and the proverbial elbow grease at her command, the construct found herself floundering between drawing it and trying to find the best spot to cut without it possibly whipping about and catching someone afterwards...

Full marks for innovative thinking. I’ll need to cogitate on a response.

The creaking is getting worse. D.O.R.K. can find a spot to start sawing through the rope if she wants.
