OoC: If Arianrhod and Bho weren't besties already... (sorry, Cass)
Hey party, I'm on the fence about something, actually; curious about folks' opinions: I was going to take Inspiring Leader, which would give everybody 8 temp HP each short rest (+1 each level). Another possibility is Resilient (CON), since Geth has an odd CON score, and almost all of his spells are concentration (with Hypnotic Pattern coming next level). Would you rather have temp HP, or would you rather have more durable debuffs?
(OOC: Concentration is never a bad thing, but how often does Geth get into the mix directly? If he's rarely taking hits, the temp HP might be more valuable, especially as we've got pretty limited healing. 8x6 = 48 free HP. Both choices have a lot of appeal.)
Once everyone is ready Scar will pick up both of the gagged and bound people and prepare to make the trek to the fire snake room, grunting out with the effort, "Ready when you are."
[OOC: I can carry 540 pounds. I agree with Geth's on the temp HP.]

( i would say resilient, as a Warlock you only got 1 spell per fight on average, better make it stick.)
OoC: Yeah, I was originally thinking along the lines of what you said, Bierp: so far Geth has largely managed to avoid taking hits, so buffing defense/concentration wasn't an immediate priority... however, challenges will be increasing (ranged attackers, AoEs, more intelligent enemies that target spellcasters, etc.), so it's not a given that hanging back will continue to be enough. And as Bhuraelea said, he can really only use one spell per encounter, so if he loses concentration he usually won't be able to afford to replace the effect. On the other side of the ledger, the temp HP would be a lot now, but it doesn't scale so well, and is inefficiently distributed since only half the party gets hit regularly; plus I see Obsben just picked up Heroism, which he can upcast to give two (later three) of the front-liners temp HP that refresh every round. So those are the reasons I'm currently leaning toward Resilient, but am still open to persuasion.
OOC: Long term thinking is always good when you're leveling a character. We're also at a point where a basic healing potion actually makes a difference, so getting those bite-sized HP from that instead of leadership would put points into the concentration argument. Ultimately, go with what is the most fun for you. Metagaming is best used for MMORPG's, not actual "pencil and paper" gaming. :)

I was also going to say earlier if the DM lets it continue to be a thing from time to time at least, there are Obs' potential food buffs as well. Now that he has his handy dandy spice pouch, its all a matter of procuring interesting main course ingredients!
Though even without the buff, he's still going to cook up a storm anyways. ;)
OoC: YES, thanks much, Ianth! I'm really enjoying your DMing. It's a good mix of attention to rules+mechanics, rolling with ideas that seem fun, and adding descriptive color and personality to the narration. And you've managed to keep things moving along without (I think) leaving anybody feeling left behind (and we're actually leveling at a non-glacial IRL pace, which is rare in PbP). These ToTYP adventures seem like good choices for PbP, too. Constrained enough to keep things from unraveling due to diffusion of responsibility, interesting enough to stay engaged with, and bite-sized enough that there's a meaningful sense of closure every once in awhile.
And thanks Ranmilo for all the bookkeeping. I suppose you are playing the Cleric, so makes sense you'd do the clerical work... :-D
If the list of gems and art objects, etc. is worth 425gp, then I get a total of 1509 gold between all of that and the cash (converting copper and silver to gold); which works out to 251gp 5sp each (assuming the DM is ok assuming we are able to unload it).
As for the misc. treasure: I think Obsben is the only one who has scorching ray on (one of) his spell lists, so he may as well keep that scroll. Melf's Acid Arrow is Wizard only, and Entangle is Druid only. Want to take your next two levels in those so you have all the full caster classes? j/k... Dunno if we could sell those?
I move we sell the alchemist's fire, since it's always seemed to be valued well above its actual in-game utility (even at the typical half-price trade-in value). But if anybody wants it, I won't argue.
Geth has no special interest in any of the items. If we find any wands or anything though; dibs!
Unless we find a headband of intellect next to a spellbook... highly unlikely, I did honestly entertain the druid route after the tree incident, but it's a bit too soon. Other than that, I would like to keep the alchemist fires in the bag of holding. Pricey as they are, you never know when it comes to those things if you need it for some dumb and over-complicated plan in the future.
Obsben nods to Scar. "Sounds good. I'll be along shortly. There's one last thing I'd like to do 'fore moving on, if'n that's alright." The halfling turns back to the tree, or what little of it remains, fiddling absently with something in his pocket. He watches for however long it takes for there to be little more than ashes, if not the next best thing. Then with trusty shovel in hand, he sets to work. Even if it costs him an evenings rest, halfling arms work almost without end or thought for anything else, digging a hole deeper and uprooting any roots. Even these he sets to flame should they linger before returning to the work, a man possessed to any onlooker after a time.
When he finally stops, what remains of Belak is rolled into the makeshift grave. "Your story is not one for this one to ever know in full. Yet for the parts we shared together, tumultuous though it was, it shall not be forgotten. Now may you rest in the after, free of the woes that ailed you here, and find solace in the knowing that which remained rejoins the cycle. Her love for you unbroken, and your deeds in part redeemed in the nurturing of new life." On that final word, Obsben lets drop the tree token into the grave, and begins cover both over, planting both in the moment.
What sprouts after surprises him out of his stupor. Awestruck and pleased, the halfling will not only a leave to join the others with a genuine pep to his step for the first time, but memories of songs and happier times allowed to freely flutter about at the forefront of his mind.

The trip back to the surface world is a long and arduous one. The goblins celebrate the defeat of Belak the Outcast and the group of adventurers that killed him. The give you four more bottles of their beloved Goblin Wine and return to the Underdark to (ostensibly) live their lives in peace. A well deserved rest in the no longer warm snake room goes by without incident.
The climb out of the pit required some work, but Anton's rigging and Scar's brute strength get the two captives up the vine covered well. A long walk past the halls evidenced by your passage earlier bring memories of goblin shamans and kobold sorcerers. Climbing back out of the ravine the citadel had sunk into, leaves the party squinting into the full sun. Days underground robs you of your sight for a few moments. The mid afternoon sun high and hot against your skin. You begin the hour long hike back to Oakhurst.

As the group emerges into the daylight, Geth winces, the bright light pouring into his pupils, which appear to be dilated a bit beyond what the stint in the darkness would account for. He does a quick gesture, and a purple translucent hand appears against his forehead. Although it doesn't completely block the sunlight, it seems to filter and soften it a bit, easing slightly the assault on the warlock's senses. He grumbles. "Mrgg... not enough," he says. "Arianrhod, c'mere," he says, gesturing toward his owl. Arianrhod perches on the hood of Geth's cloak, and spreads a wing to shade her master's face. "Ahhh... that's the ticket. You're a good friend, Rhode," he says, as he begins the walk.
"I'm... I'm not gonna lie. That went a LOT bettah than I expected. Especially after getting a dragon involved of all things. And then those fire snakes! Mmm~ Scary, but delicious too! But most importantly, though I still feel sorry for those Kobolds, none of us, well, perished. Or got trapped and left behind in there. I mean, could you have imagined that?" Obsben holds himself and shudders. The halfling's excitement then grows dim. After some hmming and hawing he musters the courage to speak again. "Do you think perhaps we can travel and work together again sometime? I-if not, I understand of course. We all had our reasons for this venture and... and I just thought we worked fairly well together... and that it would nice is all."

Geth sighs at Obsben, doing his best to convey aloof exasperation, an effort which is undermined by the ridiculous sight of an owl on his head with wings outstretched, and the droppings on the back of his cloak. He shrugs. "Well, I suppose I don't have anything better to do at the moment. You have another job in mind?" At this last question his voice betrays an anxious eagerness, despite his effort to hide it.
"That did go quite nicely. That was the first time I've seen a dragon that close, let alone have a conversation with it... my tribe would be let down I let it go." Cassius sighs, "But it was a pleasure working with you all. You all pushed me further than I've ever gone. I would love to keep pushing further with you all."
Cass turns to Geth, "I'm sure something will turn up. There is always something."
Little has changed in the town of Oakhurst. Though your arrival has caused a bit of a stir. People gather on the roadside to watch the strange procession of adventurers and captives. Quite a few people curse, or make holy signs in the air in front of the them, as gray eyes of the zombie like pair swept over them.
Where in town are you guys headed? Kerowyn's shop or Temple of Lathander(I think I called it Pelor earlier, wrong world)
