Laffa speaks up, "Yeah, bury that thing in the dirt over there and lets get the heck out of here. I don't know if you've ever met the Raven Queen of the shadow fey, I haven't, but I've heard about her. She's not likely to appreciate us no matter what you think. She won't believe that we killed the Princess, or will want us killed simply for ignoring her desires, or possibly because your fingers nails aren't quite trimmed enough, or cause its cloudy. The 'off with their heads' thing, though said in jest, sounds a lot more reasonable. Let's bury that thing and break that crystal and get the heck out of dodge."

He avoids looking at Ketch the entire speech and ensures he keeps his distance from the half-orc. 

     Ketch turns to look at Mordekai and Lionel, even glancing over to Ulthan, before giving a shrug.  "Truthfully, I have no faith in Gruumsh to not destroy the thing totally, or do nothing at all.  I am not sure..." Ketch says with unusual hesitancy in his voice.  "I cannot make this call."

     If the group wishes it be done, Ketch will go through the motions of casting Remove Curse upon the mace, but he will voice no further opinion.

Lionel nodded. "Do it. The thing survived everything including the direct Princess' attack. At least we will know we did everything possible here."

Ketch casts remove curse on the object. It does not explode, get destroyed, or seem to do anything at all. Meepo still feels connected to it. 

     "Well then," Ketch says in summary, clears his throat, and then walks off to find a tree to sit under and lean back upon while doing some light reading from one of the various books he stole from the Princess' library.

"Meepo, what exactly does this thing do? What do you know about it? Is there anything you've figured out about it so far that you're not telling us?  Like, does it seem to have its own will?"

"Meepo know... Protects Meepo. Meepo cast spells with it. Meepo better at some things with it than without it." He numbers each of these off by raising fingers as he speaks. "Meepo no think have mind." He shrugs though as it might just be hiding that fact from him. "Meepo say, if Meepo Friend Ketch fix, then Meepo Friends be fine now." He smiles broadly, clearly thinking the entire matter is fixed. "Meepo do hope bugs no go away now..."

"Does anyone feel differently? Not sure I am. Meepo... Just an idea, but next time we take a rest, could you put your mace into that special bad of yours? I mean, the hole with the skeletons? Maybe isolated, it would not affect us."

With this sort of sorted out, Lionel returned to the main question. "Are we still going to see the queen? If Laffa is right, it might not end well."

The group decides to leave the scorned Queen's resting...or something, and there are still some things the group can do to figure out if they can avoid some of the unpleasantry of Meepo's strange, dark mace. The mystery of how or why you ended up with it is still there. But for now, the group crushes the crystal and heads back across the planes towards Sigil. A nice rest in Crux might be due to the group while they try and figure out how far from Meepo's staff they need to be to not have nightmares. Who knows where investigation of the strange artifact may lead them. 

With Laffa in tow, they make off, leaving behind one strange land and heading for a city in the center of all existence. 

Behind them, they leave dark places, legendary accomplishments, and fallen foes with no one to sing their praises but themselves. The ragtag group had proven they could accomplish nearly anything.

(Hey folks. It's been a pleasure playing with you guys in this campaign!  I liked the plane-hopping adventures we started on after Ravenloft, and there's obviously a ton of potential for future play. Plus there's the mysterious nature of Meepo's staff and a story there! But for now I'm going to end this campaign.  If you hope to play your characters in the future in another campaign, feel free to level them all up now!  And if I get the energy to run another campaign, I'll certainly considering building off of this and sending invites.  Until then, thanks so much for playing, it was lots of fun!!  I think we're all on discord so we can chat whenever you like.  Thanks so much! )

Amazing game. I loved playing Meepo here. Hopefully you will come back with something we can continue from here, but, regardless, this was one of the best games I have played on these forums. Thanks for running it!
