Very well. By the way I don't have any good ranged options, so I call the cauldron.

Lila nods in agreement "I could cause a distraction. Keep their gaze on me while you approach. Once you are close enough, you rain down hell on them"
You do want to choose which area of the settlement to attack, since you're likely to distract only those nearest you. Unless of course you do something grandiose.

When I say 'What is the group going after?" I mean "What's their objective in attacking the settlement?" Are they after coin, goods, slaves, etc?
As to the population, there's a central round house and about four of the buildings are laid out like they're some sort of utility structure. Seven of them look like residences. 30-70 people seems likely. One of the utility buildings, in the center, looks like a signal tower or lookout station. At three stories, it's taller than any thing else there. There are no other structures with any obvious defensive value.
The buildings are interspersed with trees with light, white-ish birch-bark that bear red leaves.
If you have a Nature Skill mod of 4 or better you notice the following:
At this time of the year the leaves should have already fallen. These are red, and so they may already have turned and are simply late to fall, but they shouldn't be so even in their coloration if that were the case.
If you have a Perception Skill mod of 4 or better you notice the following:
It's normal for birch trees to have horizontal black marks on it, but these aren't the dappled marks you'd expect on a natural plant. They look too solid, like they were painted on.

There's cloud cover higher up at the moment. Far too high to use the ballista.
(Does the ship have something like... ropes, or whatever, that would allow us to descend from a hovering ship to below?)
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
We could tie rope to it.

Several hundred feet of rope used in the rigging, and a 60ft rope ladder. The gangplank also drops about 30ft, over the course of 30ft, when extended.
(In that case...)

There's about ten small buildings to that hamlet.
(Something grandiose sounds about right. Who is the helmsman again?)

(In a ship as small as ours, I'd assume our captain would take the job of helmsman as well, but I dunno.)

( I would assume the same, we are only a four man crew after all.)
"Captain, I dont suppose you would maneuver us over the village? Right in the centre"

What's the group going after?
The settlement to the south

"I agree, they may not be prepared from an attack from above. " Ssehei directs the ship so that they are above the settlement.

I'm going for some of the coins. BTW, I'm not going to try to kill, just capture. Is it possible to say I bought 10 nets?
My goal (Importance)
Free Slaves
Not kill when necessary, but capture
Magic items
Coin
