1st: I do not own, or intend on purchasing Monsters of the Universe.
The said, I seem to have full access to the Compendium side of this Source book. After checking the Rick and Morty adventure I now I have access to the full Compendium for that now also. I never purchased it either. I am a long time D&D Beyond subscriber who started with a Legendary bundle and Have purchased everything except for upcoming release ( I preordered Spelljammer and will be purchase Crystal Citadel finances permitting. My roommate who also own a Legendary bundle (albeit a much newer version than my own also can see the Compendiums of those books he does not yet own. Is this a new benefit for bundle owns? Is this a bug? I am just wondering if this 'feature' is going to go away. :)
you're in a campaign with a content share.
Nope, this is sitting outside any campaigns. That was my 1st thought also. Try it yourself.
I own everything, so there's nothing I can't read.
Nod. I was hoping someone who did not have everything read this and checked. :)
I am also hoping someone who does not own a Legendary, Source, or Adventure bundle checks it since I thought it might be something attached to that . . .
Thanks for the response.
If you have access to content that you have not purchased yourself, then it has to be from Content Sharing. I'd recommend checking the campaigns you are in to see what is being shared.
A player in my campaing bought the book from here and has shared it, but none of us can actually use the new features in character creation, i personally can see that the book is shared and i can read it but have not gotten any of the races nor any "legacy" option.
I have this content shared with me. I am able to view the book when I go to the sources page, read it's contents and such. When I create a character in the campaign this book is shared to me though I cannot select the races. When placing MotM as the chosen source on the race selection screen I only see the hare and fairy, from the other book (though due to the recent change they are written as sources mainly from there).
I only have content sharing from one person so I know the campaign should have it accessible.
I am not 100% sure it has to do with MotM, but after it dropped I noticed that a lot of my character portraits, backdrops and frames are broken.
Either they show a "broken" image or it's just plain black. This mifht be a minor inconvenience but I like to personalize my characters and the fact that lots of my options don't even work right now is a bit frustrating.

If you are in a campaign with content sharing enabled where one person does own the content then you will have access to the compendium, and access to any tool-based content for the character(s) in that campaign. So you are sure you are not in any campaigns with content sharing enabled where one of the players (or DM) owns the compendium or book?

1. For the Mindwitness, the Eye-ray feature it says that it shoots one magical eye (not 3 as the previous version), and then it says to reroll duplicates (how if I can only roll one?). The multiattack only refers to bite or tentacles, nothing about eye-ray. Is it a typo error? It looks under-powered when using the eye-ray option (and adding that it restrains with the tentacle instead of stunning, even more)...
2. The Quickling link in the main article links to the Quickling of Volos Guide instead of the new version.
Is it not cause one is the free-use per day and the other is the one you can cast with spell slots?
The Mindwitness entry on the MotM Sourcebook states:
"Multiattack. The mindwitness makes one Bite attack and one Tentacles attack, or it uses Eye Ray three times."
...while the Monster page for it says:
"Multiattack. The mindwitness makes two attacks: one with its tentacles and one with its bite."
There's been a few mistakes like this, where the monster has been copied incorrectly from the MotM Sourcebook to the Game Rules - Monster section. They really should all be double checked by the moderators at this point.
Public Mod Note
(GPyromania):
This has been fixed - thanks for the report!
Negate Spell (3/Day). The alhoon targets one creature it can see within 60 feet of it that is casting a spell. If the spell is 3rd level or lower, the spell fails, but any spell slots or charges are not wasted.
...from the Game Rules - Monsters section.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured out the issue. Someone had said they were going to be buying MPMM in our shared content campaign the day it came out and they hadn't actually done it yet, hence couldn't see the new versions of the races. Checked in another campaign for my Aasimar and that one did have it available. Sorry. ^_^
A quick browse through the thread didn't seem to show the issue I'm having, so...
I have an old Goliath that I'm wanting to update to the new rules; however, when I go to change its race I can only see the legacy version. I can see the other races from the new book, but Goliath only shows the old version, and my Stone's Endurance is still the old 1/SR use instead of the new prof/LR uses.
Do I just need to give it a few days to automatically update goliath to the new version or am I missing something?
None of the issues I've brought up in this thread have been fixed in the App version, FYI. I imagine they require an update, so waiting until all the fixes are compiled might be what the plan is, just letting you guys know in case you don't already.
Interaction: Creatures with Natural Weapons + Monk.
Since the natural weapons show up as unarmed strikes now, the natural weapon unarmed strikes should be able to show up as Bonus Action attacks. At the current moment, they only show up under the Actions Tab. Flurry of Blows are only showing 1d4 damage for those races when you should be able to use the natural weapons as unarmed strikes.
I cant access any of the content on mordenkainen tome of foes. I can access volo's just fine and it is marked as legacy but when i open any link to MToF sourcebook it sends me to the page explaining legacy content with no option to open the sourcebook.
The Eladrin from MotM have "Magical Sleep" listed in the DEFENSES box of the character sheet as an Immunity, but the MotM version does not get immunity to sleep.
Trance. You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep. You can finish a long rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in a trancelike meditation, during which you retain consciousness.
The Eladrin from MotM DO have immunity to sleep. It's just been moved to the Trance feature.

Very confusing to move it in that way. Thanks for pointing it out :)
Public Mod Note(Stormknight): The TRANCE trait applies to some races in Monsters of the Multiverse. There is no rules information in that book to apply this to previous races.
So if the new version of trance applies to *all* elves, and I own all the books, and want to make a MotM Wood Elf, how do you do that? I do not see a MotM Wood elf, and the PHB and Eberron versions have the original trance feature text...
the race selection setup is very wonky right now with MotM selections not under their parent categories.. I know it relates to the method of implementation for the "newest" versions, but it is a mess to deal with right now...

I’ve tried to download the sourcebook on the app multiple times and it never goes past 50%. I’ve tried cancelling and retrying, signing out, and uninstalling. Any tricks to fixing this?

It only applies to the races that are actually in MotM. None of the races from the Players Handbook have been refreshed.

Reach to the Blaze is not adding the Flame Blade option at 5th level. Produce Flame and Burning Hands works just fine.
Edit adding the following in case it helps:
character is a Warlock, genie patron, 6th level. I’ve tried creating on both iOS (iPad) and PC (MacBook Air) and got the same results.
<<edit>>
This seems to have been resolved now.

I cannot see most of the pictures in the app. Anyone esle with this issue?
