My wizard doesn’t live on Exandia, nor Toril, nor Eberron. My wizard doesn’t care that the Empire and the Dynasty are at odds. My DM doesn’t care if I use Galder’s Tower or Flock of Familiars. My DM should decide if my wizard may choose or scribe this new content. Making everyone jump through hoops to add homebrew feats is terrible design.
I love Critical Role. What Matt and everyone have designed for this book is great.
Based on what I have seen here Matt should just remove the spells from Caleb’s spellbook
The site functions as written in the books. The book states that these spells belong only to two Wizard subclasses and not the Wizard class itself (RAW), though a DM can choose to ignore that (homebrew).
But that's not true, otherwise only an elf could be a bladesinger or wield those elven blades from ebberon.
Also if it is your intent, then you shouldn't have the option to buy the spells separately, as that allows someone to buy content that is unusable within the ddb tool. And I don't think it's fair to say 'just homebrew it to make it work', there is nothing else that currently works like this
I hear what you guys are saying about RAW, but it feels a little bit like an expectation wasn't met, in how it was implemented.
The exception was met exactly as described. The books says that DMs can make exceptions through homebrew, and you can make those same exceptions through homebrew on DDB.
Then why are Bladesinger and Battlerager able to be chosen freely? By that logic those should be race-restricted, and made as exceptions through homebrew.
The race and subclass options I bought on Dnd Beyond are not showing up in the character creator.
Try enabling Critical Role content in the character builder, if that doesn’t work, check to make sure everyone shows up as purchased on the product page

I haven't taken a side on this conversation so far, but you make an excellent point.
That said, if people want to continue debating this issue, it should probably be spun off to a separate thread... It's not a bug/support issue so much as it is a design choice in terms of DDB's implementation. People can justifiably take issue with that design choice, but it's not really productive to continue rehashing it in this thread.
i cant seem to add any dunamancy spells to my wizards spell list in the character sheet. i have critical role content on so idk why its not working
Didn't see if anyone responded, but I've noticed this on my character builders for the Chronurgist and Graviturgist that I created for funsies. It seemed to be the same issue that the builder has if you too rapidly level up a character. The builder lags behind, not populating the new spell levels available in the spells selector on the builder. But going into the actual character sheet on my level 8 dunamancy wizards the correct spell levels are available and the dunamancy spells are available.
Hello there I just recently bought the critter bundle that comes with the D&D players handbook, xanathar Guide and the new explores guide to Wildemount. however when I try and create a new character it seems like I don’t have any access to the explorers guide to Wildemount. This is strange because I have the book in my compendium and I have all the things from the players handbook. I’m just wondering if there’s a mistake.

You'll need to make sure that the toggle for enabling Critical Role content is turned to on when you're looking at the first page of the builder. If it's off, you won't be able to see the Wildemount stuff.
I purchased the Legendary Bundle a few months ago and EGTW was supposed to be included in that on release. I still don't have access.
The Legendary Bundle is every book currently released, and a discount on any following book of 10%. That is explicitly stated in the bundle.

Slight correction: its discount is 15%, not 10%. You are correct that it does not include books that were not yet released at the time you bought the bundle.

The exception was met exactly as described. The books says that DMs can make exceptions through homebrew, and you can make those same exceptions through homebrew on DDB.
If that was your expectation, then good, I am glad it was met! I just had a different one. I'm only sharing opinions, and making suggestions, trying to be helpful to the discussion <3
I agree, my expectations where not met either. I don't even agree with the assertion of it being homebrew, but that is neither here nor there.
As an sside from that, has anyone figured out how to make a feat to add the spells to the list?
To my knowledge, it doesn't exist to add to the available spell list for them to later select from. The player would have to choose which spell(s) they want and you create a feat that grants them specifically.
That is what I figured, I just don't understand why they list it as a possible solution if we can't do it?
You can add the spells to a feat like the following example:
I don't have the options below Additional Description, the only option I have below that is "Is Infinite" with a check box. See screenshot link below.
I've got this same problem, I don't have those extra options beneath "Additional Description".
With the options I currently have I added spells to the list, it lets you do multiple at once so I did multiple. That didn't work. Did it one by one next. That just added them to the players spells that they can currently use, it didn't just add it to their list of available spells to prepare/learn.
When the book says that any class should be able to cast these spells, why not just allow access across the board?
I get it's a "With your DM's permission" deal but I'm a DM and giving permission is proving more tedious than it would be if I could just tell my players "No you can't pick that spell that you have access to for this game.
Okay, the least headache of a way to implement each Dunamancy spell to your players spell lists isn't to make custom versions of their subclasses or feats. Just make a homebrew copy of each new spell and change what classes get access to any and all you deem appropriate.
If you want to go across the board, keep it to these options to avoid redundancy (unless you want to add it to every subclass, you do you): Artificer, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard, Fighter- Eldritch Knight, Rogue- Arcane Trickster, and Blood Hunter- Order of the Profane Soul
Remember when picking which classes can cast which spell these rules.
Sapping Sting is available to every option above except for Paladins and Rangers because they cannot use cantrips.
All classes and subclasses can learn the 1st-4th level Dunamancy Spells.
Once you hit 5th level Dunamancy spells, you can stop adding Order of the Profane Soul, Arcane Trickster, and Eldritch Knight as their max spell level is 4th.
Once you hit 6th level, just put Bards, Clerics, Druids, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards.
Personally for flavor purposes I think that any class can learn or prepare these spells. Even druid given that time and gravity are aspects of the natural world (at least through our observation in the case of time). If you disagree, feel free to limit them to the more Arcane based classes and knock Cleric and Druid off the list.
I have access to the book. I can view every chapter of it. But it doesnt show up in the character builder. I own the legendary bundle.
Have you enabled the Critical Role content toggle on the first page of the character builder?
Yes, But it also still allows me to purchase the book on the marketplace. While I already have access to all the content on the page. just not in the character builder or when i search for spells through the game rules menu

Hi there,
the legendary bundle only contains the books that are in it at the time of purchase. It grants a 15% discount from further purchases as they are released and is correctly showing that you can purchase Explorer's Guide to Wildemount.
I expect that you can see the pages from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount because it's being shared with you (you have content sharing activated in a campaign with someone who has purchased EGtW).

I preordered and I am able to access the book but none of the options seem to be available in the character builder.
I can not find any of the new spell I even went as far as making a level 20 wizard and selecting both of the new subclasses.
